I would love to see this movie with a group of gatchaman fans. And I think fireworks would add an extra special feel to it.

Thanks for the information TJ, and welcome back!

Everyone, I found four samples of the live action movie's OST, and I have to say it sounds epic and dramatic.

The tracks are named after birds (Cassowary, Vulture, Onyx Condor, and Good Phoenix).

I like what I heard!

Thank you for posting the link Fang .... Is anyone else getting more and more excited as we get closer to the movie release and we are starting to see Gatch related things appear?

I think I'd be more excited if I knew we could actually *see* it on the release date. But the date we see it is some unknown date far in the future, so I'm just optimistic. Wink

Thanks Fang, for posting those links!

Hi all!

Those samples aren't the only thing regarding the soundtrack. The track listing album has also been released. While the movie itself has pretty much eliminated the bird angle from the TV series, the track titles for the soundtrack show that this hasn't been entirely forgotten. They are as follows:

1. White Eagle
2. Onyx Condor
3. Velvet Swan
4. Apricot Swallow
5. Leafy Owl
6. Lidth's Jay
7. Sociery Finch
8. Silkie
9. Red Tailed Hawk
10. Kingfisher
11. Knysna Turaco
12. Kookaburra
13. Superb Starling
14. Falcon
15. Ifrita
16. Little Shrikethrush
17. Pitohui
18. Vulture
19. Cassowary
20. Golden Pheasant
21. God Phoenix

The spellings listed here are as they are on the website for Vap, the album's manufacturer. Whether misspellings like Sociery Finch instead of Society Finch will be corrected on the album itself is yet to be seen.

The cover for the album has also been released.

This album will retail for 2,500 yen, and will be released on August 21st.

Here's a shot from the fireworks even hosted in honor of the film!

And here is the cast.

Lastly, it seems that there is a Good Morning Gatchaman/Zip TV theatre short (3 minutes long) that is airing in the theatre before the Gatchaman movie! Hopefully this will be released on the DVD too!

That's a very interesting review, and it does seem like the author tried to look at both sides. Of course I still want to see it, but I'm disappointed that the plot may appear to be lacking.

Let's face it: after all the false starts, hopes, and expectations, any movie will disappoint, especially given our high expectations for it.

Tim Burton had the advantage that Batman had been solely a comic book for a decade or so. The only non-print versions in the memory of most audience members would have been the campy live-action series, and Superfriends. (I believe there was an animated one that might have had vocals at least by Burt Ward, but do not quote me.) He had nowhere to go except up.

It's just a couple of days ago that I've come across this same review and I must say that my thoughts were just the same as yours, TJ! This leads to my agreeing with UW, too, in saying that our expectations, as loyal fans to the original, would always be so high to be somehow met at all levels! This notwithstanding, I'm still anxious to be able to watch the movie also just the same, though, since each individual could see things from a different perspectiv, and I'd like to be able to come up with my own opinion!

Funny that though its Madeinjapan the CGI is supposed to be dubious.

(But I heard its an art they are not totally at home with.)

It does say something if the movie goers are clapping at the end.

Like you, Tengu, I still want to see it.

The wait is over. The movie has been put up for download. Sadly, no subtitles as of yet, but I'll keep on monitoring the usual places and if I manage to find them, I'll post the link ASAP. https://mega.co.nz/#!mAw20BaS!d1sdi0nvpmxXs66dng0lDhGwU94e09Aedl5t2vgWkfc
