Okay, two questions:
First, aren't you just drooling all over this Japanese candy?
Second, what is the little girl putting in Katse's basket? At first I thought it might be a Flake, but on closer inspection of the box, I'm not so sure...
In any case, how can you not love a guy who gets so excited over a 'Rice Choco'?

Now I understand ep. 12, the "Ibukuron" episode, and ep. 86, the "sugare" episode, better -clearly all Katses have big sweet tooths!
I thought those two girls in the candy shop were cute -smiling at Pierre Katse and even putting candy in his basket. Sure doesn't make him seem like a convincing villain though!

I'm really not sure. All Pierre asks for is something "tasty," and that's what the girls hand him. Unfortunately, the box and the candy aren't shown clearly enough for me to tell what it is.

Ahh, that Pierre Katse is such a hedonist!

I'm loving Katse on the tire swing, too! Katse is da bomb!

Okay, James, I need some help... what's going on at the end of this one, where Katse is looking out at the sunset? Is he fed up with his boss' zapping all the time? Am I missing an important plot point?
Oh yeah, everyone... the new one is up.

It does end differently than the others, doesn't it? Usually Pierre Katse just stands there and submits to the zapping, and that's the end...
Didn't James once tell us that the ending first conceived for Gatch I had Katse turning against Sosai X?

And this time he did a pretty good job avoiding the zaps!

Hmmm..... this could be why they decided to use 'Katsepin' for awhile...

Well, he obviously feels that he's being unjustly zapped, since he is trying his best. But, despite his looking at the sunset and crying out, "Boss, you're an idiot!," he then turns and mutters how he has to go back.

You're reading too much into this. This is a show for very young kids, and complex plotlines are not something that are included here. Anything beyond what you see on the surface is simply your imagination at work.

That's something along the lines of what I was thinking. Thanks for confirming this, James!

I agree. I was just joking.
I know that doesn't always come through the internet very well, and I freely admit that my sense of humor is quite warped.
I am actually very much reminded of watching Sesame Street with my own kids. I keep thinking about Super Grover when I see Gatchapin walking around...
Regardless, I appreciate your kindness in answering all of our inane questions, James.

I just watched the latest one -Katse's given up trying to lasso Gatchapin, but I can't say his new plan is much better!

James, quick question: what was going on with the black and white flash? Did Gatchapin see Pierre Katse and ignore him? It seemed like I missed something there.
Okay, I know I'm over-thinking this so for everyone else, let's discuss this in fun: how come Katse and Gatchapin keep 'running into' each other? Do they both live in the same neighborhood? Is Gatchapin on patrol? It seems like often Pierre Katse isn't necessarily out to catch Gatchapin, but is shocked to see him about. If Gatchapin is on patroil, he's doing a lousy job. Perhaps Katse's boss just wants control of the neighborhood, like some glorified street thug.
Another observation: Katse sure loves to eat! He's at the grocery store, picking up groceries on his bike, at the candy store, eating dango... it's amazing this guy isn't fatter than Gatchapin!

More like Pierre Katse is laying in wait to spring his latest trap on Gatchapin, and Gatchapin didn't see him as he walked by. How could he have missed him? Well, he
is a baby dinosaur, so he might have a brain the size of a walnut.
Yes, he is. As the Narrator comments in this latest episode, Gatchapin in on his daily patrol to make sure all is peaceful in the city.

Or perhaps he simply doesn't see Pierre as much of a threat of the safety of the city. Admittedly, from what we've seen, he really isn't a threat to anyone but himself.

Of course, if that were true, then Pierre shouldn't bother hiding and freaking out every time Gatchapin shows up!
At least he didn't lose his groceries today!

I don't know... How would
you react if you saw a baby dinosaur in a white cape and helmet walking down the street?

James and TJ your comments are cracking me up.
I think I am loving them more than the Gatchapin eps. It definitely makes them more interesting to watch.

If it were wearing a Gatchaman costume I'd probably be jumping up and down and squealing like a teenager.
