Too much cement will increase the heat, we tend to have much more grassed areas in schools, even if the grass is brown most of the time!

I have heard that about the hats and sunscreen Ebony. It surprises me that more parents here in North America do not do this.

I had thought the seminar I went to mentioned Austraila, maybe it was NZ, was a leader in Greening their school playgrounds and planting trees and shrubs around the play equipment so the children do not have to play in the full rays from the sun.

You got that right CD! Play areas have shade sails over them with UV protection. And growing trees and shrubs is the norm in schools over here. NZ and Australia generally do similar things in these areas.

You know I could see the Condor getting all uptight because his little TV does pick up reception and he wants to watch the racing. He goes up on top of the trailer to fix the Antenna but it still doesn't work.(Actually we call them caravan's here...a trailer is what you take rubbish to the tip in, or cart gear around in.) Anyway...he tries everything to reception but it just doesn't work...including moving his trailer to a higher location...

Hey I should put that as an idea for a ficcie scene! huh...

Bounce2 Guess who is finally getting snow? It'll only be about an inch...but if we get anything worth taking pics of, I will...
It's funny, b/c people around here go crazy if we get so much as a dusting...we are so unprepared for it...we hardly ever get snow...

We were going to get 1 - 2 inches out of this storm, but at this time it looks like we will only get a sprinkle.
Maybe next weekend the snow will reutrn to Ontario.
*Cloud keeps hoping*

We got nothing out of this storm. It visited Springie, then zipped right out to sea, leaving us with nothing but cold temps (currently 18F, -8C). What good is all this cold weather if it doesn't snow??? snowing

Hope you enjoyed the snow, though, Springie!! Happy

My thoughts exactly Hino. All we got were lake effect streamers which brought a lot of snow North of us but nothing where I am.

Cloud considers and then wonders if the Eagle would rather rescue TJ of the Evil Whip and Yoyo, or just rescue the paperwork, and write up the stories for ourselves. Freak4

Thanks Hino, we only got about a half an inch...and it melted before the kids could even play in it...maybe we'll get a better snow soon...poor kids were disappointed.

Oh, Springie, I hope you have enjoyed your snow, even if it was so short lived. Mine is starting to melt! Huh, I pray that will be soon, because the ground is skiddy in the morning. God I how miss walkable grounds. They're skid pan at night and puddles at day!

I wish I could have CD....but I really shouldn't...they interfere with my meds..(well at least the amount that I'd have to consume to kill off the little bastards!) and my stomach was very queasy. I had very little to eat, mostly soup, and that bounced around awhile...there was a few times I was ready to prostrate myself before the porcelin god. prayPuke1

Besides at this point I need all the brain cells I have left!

I do feel much better today, at least I don't feel sick to my stomach. My ear thermometer isn't working right...it keeps saying my temperature is 75.2!...I think that means I'm dead! Must change the batteries though I did feel that cold!
