It kind of reminds me of the ep where Galactor steals all of the sugar cane and has the sugar refinery built right inside that beetle mecha. I believe the Eagle, Condor and Owl sneak aboard and almost get cooked in liquified sugar.
Funny that one of the few eps where the owl leaves the controls of the Phoenix, to save a food resource!

ITA! It's also the ep I call 'Why Ryu isn't Taken on More Away Missions'. He totally bungles everything in that ep!!! And then he delays their departure from the doomed mech to grab sugar! Ugh...
Although, I have to say, Jun flies the GP in this ep, and does a darn good job! She even does the fancy maneuver of hiding under the Beetle Mecha's wing. I think SHE should have been flying the GP, instead of Joe, when Ryu quit the team (in the ep where he fell asleep on the Bridge and missed the call to action).

I remember the Eagle almost getting his arm ripped out of it's socket trying to hold the owl up out of the hot molten sugar, while the condor uses his cable gun and then swings and wraps his legs around the owl to save him.
