I think we're all like that, Springie. Doesn't matter if it's drawing or writing. I spend more time going over what I think is wrong with my writing then anything else. That's probably why I've yet to finish a story...
FWIW, I love your pics. I only wish I had artistic talent like that.

Thanks, Hino! I feel that way with writing, too! But it helps to have a good beta reader (hugs TJ and Gatchgirl).
FWIW, I really like your writing, and I'm looking forward to reading more from you!

That's pretty normal, Springie. You will be your own worse critic. That's how I am. I see all the minor flaws in my work and want to change them but someone else viewing my work won't see it as I do. For them these "minor flaws" either don't exist or are so minor that they aren't worried about them. It is easy for the artist to get too close to their work. |
|
It looks likw we are all perfectionists in our own way!
ITA Sosai, it is funny how when you put a though down how others see it can be sooo different from what you wanted to project within the story.
I guess when I read a story I like to be able to get into it, I just like to see what someone can come up with! Fanfics are good for learning a new skill.
Critiques are good for growth, as long as they are productive, and not totally negative.
I guess it's like that for professional Authors!
Art is just that way was well..."The whats going on here." Thread was good for that...
Hino from what I saw in the IF I can't wait to read one of your stories!

Thanks Springie and TJ. The IF was great fun and a tremendous learning experience. I know I keep saying this, but I will eventually finish and post my fics. I just hope everyone enjoys them as much as the IF!

Hino you never know what skill you have untill you try. I never thought I could draw, let alone post my pics here, and I have no special artistic skill! And remember TJ's stick figures? They were sooo fun ( Do some more TJ, pleaaaase)
C'mon, do something. How bad can it be?

Christmas Challenge?? I remember reading something about that somewhere on the boards, but I wasn't really planning on participating this year. I kinda wanted to see how these challenges worked, then maybe get in on them... Plus my computer-time is so limited right now that I'm not sure I could complete another story in such a short amount of time. Sorry...

FTR, the Christmas Challenge details are here:
http://www.gatchamania.net/thread.php?threadid=1373&sid=
It doesn't have to be a fic. It can be ANYTHING Gatch amd Christmas related! I've written a fic, I believe Springie has some drawings, and we're pushing Tim for a Christmas screenshot with caption.
You could write a poem or make a craft and post a picture... ANYTHING you want. Go for it, Hino!

Uh... I'm trying to FORGET my stick figures. May I point out that they were colored in with my kids CRAYONS????
Trust me, you don't WANT my stick figures. Now, Ego-bashing Christmas carols (remember the Jingle Bells one?) I could handle...
