To the tune of the Beatles' She Loves You |

Memo to self: Do not sing TJ's filks out loud to see how they sound unless you are positive you are alone.
BF thinks I'm really nuts now... |
|
I guess that is one good reason for living on my own. I only had my dog and cats giving me strange looks as I bust into song.

Yeah, yeah, we already knew THAT!
Question is, how did it sound?
On a slightly more serious note, what I did was listen to the song on iTunes, and then sang the lyrics in my head along with it.

I'm neither the best nor the worst singer; I can more-or-less hold a tune but my range is limited.
You would have died laughing a few days ago, though, if you could have heard me in my car trying to sing harmony to Duran Duran's "Rio" on the radio!
(recently found a radio station that plays a lot of 80s stuff...)

His name is Nambu and he has ninjas close at hand
Just like a feather shooting through Galactor-Land...
Okay, that one needs work.

Bwahahahaha..."Rio" will never be the same! And it's one of my favorites, too!

LB, my B/H says that I'm a little to out of it, when I tell him that a sunflower head that he threw into my car reminded me of the rose/Condor incident...

At least the sunflower head didn't explode (right?)
However, now I'm wondering why he would toss a sunflower head in your car...

Okay, now I have a horrible vision of Dr. Nambu sitting on the front of that sailboat that's speeding through the water in the "Rio" video, singing!

TJ,
That is a fantastic spoof on the Beatles's tune. The lyrics are all spot on Dr. Nambu. Perhaps next time you can spoof another Beatles' song "A Hard Day's Night" on another character, like Joe, perhaps,
Anyway, really think that you should finish up on the spoof on "Rio", just can't imagine Dr. Nambu frolicking with all the babes just like the Duran Duran's music vid, though.

As long as he's not air-playing the saxophone on a raft!

Uh, I'm really not sure I want any more images of Nambu frolicking....
But I'm glad you liked the song. I put myself out for requests when I joined Birdscramble and someone requested a Nambu song. This was what I submitted.
Hard Day's Night, about Joe, huh? I accept. Give me a bit though... I'm about to get the kids up for Sunday School...
BTW, somewhere in the Rubber Room is my 'Love Machine' song about Cyborg Joe...

Okay, here we go! To the tune of Hard Day's Night by the Beatles.
Joe's Long Hard Fight
It's been a long, hard fight
Blowing up that mecha dog
It's been a long, hard fight
And now my cablegun is clogged
But when I'm in the G2
With nothing pressing to do
You know I'll tear out of sight
You know I fight all day
To stop the chaos that Katse brings
And I'll keep shooting 'till I hear Ken say
The red button's lost a spring
'Cause we're the Earth's only hope
And though I'll brood and I'll mope
You know I feel okay
At my home
My trailer is dingy and tight
At my home
Calls come in the dead of the night
Night, yeah!
It's been a long, hard fight
Shooting at a mecha frog
It's been a long, hard fight
Through dead goon bodies, I have slogged
Soon I'll be in the G2
And Ken will have to make do
'Cause I'll be driving all night
Owwww!
But now my head's gonna blow
And soon my vision will go
And I don't feel okay
The puppy's gone
But my brain is not working quite right
The puppy's gone
And I'm suffering pain from bright light
Light, yeah!
It's been a long, hard fight
My head is lost in a dense fog
It's been a long, hard fight
I can't take Nambu's monologue
I'll fight until Katse's through
'Cause it's revenge I value
And then I'll feel all right
I know I'll feel all right...

Those are such good lyrics, TJ! I'm resisting the urge to sing, as the BF is in the room.
Later...

This is great TJ.
and I tried out your Youtube suggestion! It definitely helps add dimension to the song.

You know how I LOVE the Beatles! This is awesome! I agree, we need a "Gatchaman Sings the Beatles" album!

Instead of the White album, we'll have the 'White Shadow' album!
Instead of 'We All Live in a Yellow Submarine', we'll have 'Galactors Live in a Mecha Submarine'. For 'Hey Jude', we can have 'Hey Jun'...
Okay, I'm getting carried away...
