1) You are locked into the Rubber Room for life anyway as the Swans, Owl and female Eagle have the key.

2) It would look and sound good (hopefully) if you use that EDF thing.

3) Pity that you have to take out the inlets but heck, if it means you can fly it without a prop, then go for it.

4) Maybe to make old people jump around in excitement is to make models of their favourite TV program vehicles?

I hope it works, the wings are too short for my likes.

(says she who has built RC planes too)

This is great news. I look forward to seeing photos of the modification process. I don't know anything about RC planes, but I'm definitely interested now!

Ooh, Springie! Are you ok there???

Fury, you may want to forewarn the Swannies before you post pics of a dissected Phoenix (or anything else for that matter). As you can see, they don't always react very well... Eek

BTW, is that a foamie?? I didn't realize it until you posted the pics. That's pretty darn cool to have such a great paint job on a foamie. And now that I realize how light it is, when you put the "jet engine" in it, it's going to get some awesome speed to it!

Ok, slight change of plans. When i took the Phoenix into the model shop he was almost jumping up and down with excitement Smile (love seeing an older bloke actually happy bout something, they usually look so miserable lol )

The original plan was to place a pusher propeller on the back of the phoenix BUT, when the guy saw how i had built it, with plenty of empty space inside he pretty much insisted that i put an EDF (electro ducted fan) deep inside the fuselage, cut out the air inlets and put some ducting in so it forces the air thru the EDF.

The guy reckons that it should "scream thru the air" (his words, not mine) Smile

Basically this means that there will be NO PROPELLOR and it will have the air being blasted thru the jet outlets at the back Smile

No prop means that it will look like a jet whilst in flight Smile

Im very happy with it. One thing tho, im gonna have to half dissasemble the airframe to make all the changes that are needed but it wont take too much to do and it will not damage the airframe.

Will take some photos as i make the changes.

Also, thanks to everyone for being so kind, I dont usually make a habit of hanging out on Forums but i bet im gonna be here for a good long time Smile

Sounds like you made his day...along with ours! It's nice to hear, and that is going to be one wicked bird!

Keep up the great work!

Still working on her today, here are the latest pics. Will continue working thru the evening. Hopefully should be somewhere close to finishing putting the airframe back together tomorrow.

Cheers
