Aside from Gatchaman, I am a die hard fan of Tadao Nagahama's "Chodenji Mashin Voltes V" and I've collected many items regarding the super robot show. (Popinka die cast Godaikin Voltes V, Original Soundtrack, Illustrated Pocket Book, original DVDs) aside from this, I'm also a fan of Hayao Miyasaki's Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.

My favourite was always BotP, now Gatchaman. Now I've discovered "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Spirited Away" by Hayao Miyazaki. 
I'm looking forward to seeing more of his films.

I watched the Warner Bros. cartoon, (Bugs Bunny et al), Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo. My favorite anime was Kimba the White Lion, Speed Racer and then when I was older, BOTP. In the 80's it seemed like cartoons got too PC and were really boring, (the ones I saw anyway). I really love the Simpsons and Futurama. What really impressed me was Batman:The Animated Series. I also enjoyed Superman:TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. What blew me away was when I bought the first box set of Gatchaman--what a difference to BOTP! Don't get me wrong, I still love BOTP but hated the annoying robots and how the episodes sometimes didn't make sense.
I've been trying to watch some new anime; I watched the Basilisk series on IFC and really enjoyed it. It's like a Romeo & Juliet set in feudal Japan. If you want to watch a silly but funny series you should see Ranma 1/2. It's about a boy who got cursed and turns into a girl when cold water is dumped on her and back to a boy when hot is used. He is supposed to be betrothed to a girl who hates his guts!

As a kid, after BOTP went off the air, my next favourite cartoon was the Smurfs (don't ask me why -I was a kid!)
A few years ago, I took a liking to Samurai Jack, that was on the Cartoon Network, but only ever watched it sporadically.
After I finished watching all of the Gatchaman DVDs from ADV, I went into anime withdrawl. I ended up buying all of Fullmetal Alchemist (which I like a lot) and Neon Genesis Evangelion (weird but interesting). I know there are other good anime series out there, but it's an issue of finding time to watch anything now.
