My Dad got the sweaters for us in Norway. My brother had one too, except his was red, and he rarely ever wore it. After I outgrew mine, I wore my sister's. However, about five years ago I saw a picture of my brother's middle daughter, and she was wearing my old Norwegian sweater (I had completely forgotten about them by then, so it made me laugh).
