CD: I am glad. This year's students sound like a huge improvement over your previous ones!

Getting out of that previous school, two years ago, was a great boost to my self esteem! I had not realized how "down" I was feeling about myself.

The school I am in now does not have the behavioural problems that my last school had, and the parents want to help their children succeed, even though they do not know HOW to go about doing that, because very often they speak even less English than their children - but at least there IS parental involvement.

This years class is hard in a different way because of the pod situation (40 children and 2 teachers) but also much more rewarding in others. And a fantastic learning experience, one which I hope my principal will allow to continue next year, since my teaching partner and I have been so successful.

CD ... sorry for the late reply, but I've had a rather busy week and am just popping in for a few minutes whilst reminding myself to try and find some more time in the coming days, longing to catch up with what I know are the many lovely ficlets left unread!

But ... yes ... the very first person that came to my mind when that cake theme was requested was really you! *hugs*

Thank you Julie …. it was quiet.

Sometimes, quiet is all that we ask for, so I'm glad that you have had a serene birthday, CD! I'm also so very happy to hear that, albeit all challenges, you're finding yourself in a better place at your new workplace! You deserve it!

I wish to thank you all for the lovely compliments regarding my cake work! Such feedback fuels me to keep on trying to do my best, even when things could become a bit overwhelming!

As to a Gatchaman themed cake ... I'm always very sad to say that it wouldn't work or make a hit, here! That's the only thing which keeps me from doing one, apart from the I-never-had-a-Gatchaman-order one, not leaving out the time needed and the material involved for a cake which noone or just a little few could appreciate! Frown I really think that I'm one of a countable few Gatchaman geeks around here, and I like to keep myself in a safe, hidden place IYKWIM! I know ... you could tell me that I could do one for me, but ....! Even though I wouldn't mind indulging into an Eagle's figure! Wink

Julie ... many thanks for the tip! I've never seen that website but I'd definitely take it into consideration!

Hmmm....it's a shame we couldn't take up a collection and place an order as a group....

You could always all come here as a group and we could have a big Gatchaman party! Smile There wouldn't be a problem with postage and packing or shipment! Smile

I was thinking …. you could always make a Gatchaman cake for yourself, Marie. There is nothing stopping you from treating yourself to a very nicely decorated cake. *grin * Maybe next year ! ! !

See, now I picture Gatchamarie making one for herself at a secret location, taking pictures of it only for us, then destroying the evidence. Smile

What? You mean people actually destroy such wonderous works of art?! Say it isn't so! Eek4
