--- Freaky... yet I can't look away... (http://www.gatchamania.net/threadid.php?threadid=3655)

Those masks are really freaky! From all, I like the French ones most, these seeming more realistic to a certain extent! And, the very first one, the one which I agree has those unsuitable eyebrows for the Eagle, somehow reminds me of Robbie Rotten of Lazytown, if anyone of you does know about whom I'm speaking! But, I think my mind could be playing some tricks over me since I'm having an overdose of Lazytown episodes, having to watch them many a time with my kids!

More terrifying masks, courtesy of The Other Jason...

Made for Carnival, if you can believe that...

Apparently the Condor refused to be made into a terrifying mask. Wink

You are correct those masks are very terrifying.
I am glad I never ran into someone wearing one.

Eeek!

Ken/Mark is the worst! Eyebrows plucked way too thin!

And what's with the red lipstick on all the guys here? Very glad there's no Condor mask! Laugh1

Maybe the top two are the Swan dressed as the Eagle?

And the bottom two are cosplayers of Swallow and Owl?

Really, that's the only way to not be scared of those.

pound pound Oh, those masks are too funny! I would've been so disappointed at Halloween if I had to use those to be a member of G Force! Just imagine the plastic outfit that would've come with them!

Check out this funny blog about old costumes...

OMG, that link is so funny! I think my brother had that exact same Luke Skywalker costume, with the horrible outfit and the mask! And just like the kid in the picture, he didn't like wearing the mask...

I totally remember those awful 'garbage bag plus cheap mask' costumes from when I was a kid! They sold them in the grocery store and they only lasted for one year.

I am not sure if I wanted to be reminded of them, but, Wow!

TJ, these masks remind me about those grotesque ones we sometimes see on people's faces at our own carnivals, worn appositely to scare people off or only for the fun of it! Needless to say that, for me, the Ken/Mark mask is the worst!

Thanks for sharing that link, Springie! I too remember such similar costumes, and they bring me back many memories! My parents didn't let us wear carnival costumes when we were kids ... they were such serious persons! ... but I remember my watching others and wishing to wear one, albeit the cheap look cause those were the ones we could acquire at those times! LOL ... maybe that's why nowadays I always indulge in dressing my own kids up in a different costume each year for carnival! Pity Gatchaman is not that popular amongst the younger generation here because I would have already dressed them up likewise!

LOL, Marie... I indoctrinated my kids to Gatch when they were very young, and then made costumes for them to wear... and they just did! They didn't know it was 'obscure'... Wink

LOL ... the first thing that my kids ask me before purchasing a costume for them is whether the chosen character is famous or not! Well ... since we let them choose their own characters themselves it's obvious that they won't choose anything Gatch because their friends don't know anything about it! I must also admit that I'm the culprit for them not being so acquainted with Gatch since I let them watch the many cartoons they find nowadays on Nickelodeon, Disney Junior, etc, instead, which they love! I've tried several times to make them watch Gatchaman, but unfortunately they don't like to stick to it for a long period of time!Frown Guess they're brainwashed by the present shows, which I don't find anything interesting in except for the very few exceptions!
