I like that one, Green. I may pass that along to a few people I know.

I loved my job when I first started two years ago. Then I went through a period where I hated it. I was stressed and felt like there was some double-standard stuff going on. Now, though, it's getting better again.

Sounds like what I went though Garnet. When I first started I enjoyed my job and the person I worked for. Then I had a new manager come in. One who was "on the rise" and needed to prove all the paperwork and have us filling out forms instead of doing our jobs. Now she has had to leave (take early retirement) and we have a new manager who I love. He is a real people person and cares about his employees.

Like you the people I work with have been great and my job has been getting better and better again. So much so I agreed to stay at least another year in this position, and help train up some new employees coming on board rather than take on a new role in a different department.

The new role, once I take it, wont increase my salary but it will help with my future endeavors.

I love my work

on the 19-20th of Feb 2011 about 70 Storm Troopers from 501st Legion Redback Garrison decended on Dreamworld, they were raising money for the Flood Relief

It was a fun Day, they were just outside the shop I was working in, so lunch comes around, I quickly got changed , got a few photoes, ate a quick snack and got changed again back to work. (and spent parts of the day looking out the window to see what new Troopers were about)
Alas not everone got it, one lady I was working for could not seem to channel her inner nerd and kept refering to them as StarTrek (OHHH the horror!!!, we threatened to get Dark Vader in the shop to have a little chat to her)

PS they were amazing considering the heat and humidity or the day, plus it was wonderful to see all the children do Jedi School and Light Saber Training

ps another benefit is that I can come to work looking "uber daggy" (see attached photo) get changed and look proffessional..snigger I hate ironing that why it pays to be supper nice to the lovely people in wardrobe who clean and iron our cloths

Love my work

This saturday the 26th they are opening the gates to up to 3000 volunteers mostly S.E.S who assisted with the flood Releif, to thank them for the wonderful work they did...

This is Pi, he is now 7month old, about 40 plus Kilos and loves trying to eat the merchandise in the shop each time they walk him though. (they walk in through the park each day)

In April Dreamworld will be getting 2 white lions for about a month when another zoo is doing some construction,. ( they are not hand raised and we will not be able to touch them ...alass...

So far in the last 8 month my photos/fun include:
picture with Pi
Picture with annie our baby wombat
picture with storm troopers
a hug from Wiggles impersonators
dressing as a pirate
picture with voodoo king and Queen
picture with zombie pirate
picure with pink monkey
picture with a Castro impersonator
being followed by an over friendly Frilly Lizard
Playing with toy light sabers at the winter wonderland
playing in fake snow and dodgy ice fight
daily dancing and singing at work (yes they encourage us to have fun)

Did I tell you I love my work..ps I also found someone who can help me learn to ride my unicyle without having to use the walls for support... I am so challenged with my balance on one wheel...I'm a happy little camper

It sounds like you're enjoying all of these outings, LW! And how cool that the stormtroopers were parading about outside of yoru work for the day! Don't worry about that one layd. Obviously she's already been brainwashed by the Dark Side. I'd watch her a bit more closely in the future, though. Wink

Littlewolf its awesome that you're loving your work! I know how that feels these days, getting out of the traditional corporate world and into a more creative one...

I hope it continues to work out for you and gets better!

Pi is one cute kitty! And with lots more growing to still do, I imagine...

Wow, a unicycle? Kudos to you -I had enough trouble learning how ride a regular bicycle when I was 7 (back in the days when they stuck you on a bike, on an unpaved gravel road, sans helmet, pads or training wheels, and just gave you a big push...)

I'd never have the balance for a unicycle!

Posted by littlewolf on 24-02-2011 at 11:36:

ha ha ..I have to say that at this moment neither have I..least with the unicycle I don't have far to fall off...
I too was taught to learn on a bicycle with some some one giveing me a push and screaming "peddle faster" as the ground came up to say hello to me...ah the memories of picking gravel and tar out of my knees and elbows

ps this is what I call Envy, this chinese girl is Awesome

Wow !!!
Thank you little wolf, I have been wressling with a half written CV all day,
I am going to finish it and apply for the job I've been musing over

My boss dropped a bombshell this week that I would have to move offices soon - for no really good reason
This means 40% more hours - I work 18.5 and would have to do an aditional 10hrs travelling a week and all the extra costs would mean I take home at least 1/3 less cash- Travelling/ childcare/ unpaid school hols etc
so what the hell a good job has come up locally in the private sector-I think it is time for a change..
reading the posts I realise that i do want a Job that I have to work at...with targets, challenges even a little difficault all that stuff that I miss
Even if I dont get it- the experience will do me good
Thanks for the inspiration
Blossom

Have at it Blossom,
we spend to much time getting ready, traveling and being at work, we should enjoy it as much as we can

ps good luck, sound like they would be foolish not to give it to you
