--- Did anybody eklse know that Megs was a model? (http://www.gatchamania.net/threadid.php?threadid=3130)
Considering the large number of great writers who inhabit these boards that's something that doesn't need to be envied!!
It's flattering for them to think me a model, but trust me - I;d never make it as one - size 24 just doesn't cut it in the modelling industry!
But - one thing you can all happily envy me for is Ste - I'm one extremely fortunate woman to have somebody like him who loves me.

I agree UW. It really irks me to hear about so-called "plus size" models who are size 12!
I know that in Australia the last 20 years of records show that the average woman is a size 14 - 16
I have a huge soapbox on size! My mother was one of the first people in Australia to have lap banding (and then suffered the restof her life from complications from this!).
She was a size 28 when she had it done - went down to a size 16 (very briefly) and looked very gaunt when she did. Finally she stabilised at a 22 - 24 and remained like that for the rest of her life.
Personally - I have a theory that nature has, when you're conceived, hardwired your body to be a certain size - like you're a certain height.
For some people it's a size 6, othes it's a size 26! They find it hard to loose weight below that size, and when they go over they do get ill.
You can always tell people on their correct natural weight - they look healthy with glowing skin and bright eyes.
To me - as long as you eat healthy foods, indulge occasionally, take at least moderate exercise and are happy, who cares what weight you are!

Maddy, you should be happy to be so photogenic, I hide from cameras.
And you are so right about size. I've seen many friends go through gastric bypass and I just won't. I've had three abdominal surgeries (c-sections) and that's more than enough for me. I refuse to suffer the lasting side-effects. Sorry, I refuse to feel tipsy after just a glass of wine.
I avoid bread, potatoes, and sugar, and if I lose weight I do, and if I don't oh well.

What's even worse, is at one time Catherine Zeta Jones was considered plus size. I think she is smaller than Marilyn Monroe was.

Fabulous photos, Maddy!! After seeing these, it's no wonder Ste's computer broke - all that drooling must have zapped the electronics!

Maddy, too right, good healthy food is far better than fad diets. I wanna know how beautiful a person is on the inside anyway. How they treat people is a good indicator. People can decide for themselves if they ned to lose weight. I know as you said you know with yourself if you need to. I no longer want to be skinny, just healthy. My DH loves me as I am. I he knew me as a skinny teenager and now a larger woman and he says he's hardly noticed over the years. But then I knew him as a fit, well toned teenager...and now he's not like that. I love him still 23yrs later.
