Mmm. My fics usually come from somewhere just left of myself, and they are usually based more on a feeling than they are on a set of events. They usually have a plot, don't get me wrong, but I'm way more interested in evoking an emotional response than a cerebral one. And I almost always write to impress someONE. I write to please myself, certainly, but it's almost always sparked by the presence of ... well, a muse in my life. Like a cat brings a mouse to the door, I find I write stories to prove that I too can bring a present home.

I find usually that I want to take the "cartoon" and make it more real. So my fics usually have darker subtext and a lot more gore, and almost nothing in them occurs just for one reason. I enjoy subtle complexity.

Each one of my fics has a different inspiration. But many of the ideas come from talking to other fans.
