Trust me, I need no "convincing" to visit bookstores! Reading

<Hino throws her hand in the air and starts jumping up and down.>

Me! Oh, me!!! I'll go to bookstores with both of you! New, used - doesn't matter! There's nothing more exciting than opening a new book for the first time. Well, except for maybe opening a used book and breathing in that "old book" smell!. (just remember, once a library-person, always a library-person! My penchant for books will never fade!) Happy

And, CD, if there's an issue with getting your books back, I can take some home with me, then mail them to you.

Are you sure you trust shipping things across the boarder HIno? I seem to recall you having a lot of difficulties with Canadian Customs. But now I do know who to go to if I run out of space in my suitcase. Thank you Huggles

All the clothes that don't fit her have been given away around the time they stopped fitting. All the clothes that don't fit me any more eventually found their way to charity shops as well Big Grin

And I know the pain of disposing of books. My husband is making no sense at the moment, because he wants to avoid having bookshelves but he reads more books than I do! I have decided we will have bookshelves in the bedrooms. That way the living space remains clear but we are still able to keep them. I don't understand why he has no objection to DVD shelves though because I'm sure we spend less time watching them than we do reading books. We have boxes of books, and I know full well that there are many we'll never read again, but it's so hard choosing which ones are to go.

Thing is, although I'm not active in the fandom as much any more, I've never stopped being a Gatch fan. There are still very few days that pass without me thinking about Gatch. The size of my collection means it has to be kept in boxes where I can't see the contents, but I haven't lost interest in the items at all. Since it is a collection of toys, it doesn't get "used", but I enjoy knowing that it's there. But, some of it has to go. I've been back to the old house this morning to move some to the new house, and I am finding it hard to choose. I think the kits will go onto ebay, because I'll never make them, but then I think of my sister who does make kits, and I think how I could ask her to make them for me so I would have the models instead, so even that decision is up in the air.

Bah.

I know my step mom has a rather large collection of christmas houses... when they moved to a smaller place, she came up with the idea of building shelves around the upper part of the wall. Close to the ceiling... that way they could be on display, but not take away from the area to put furniture or other things... Might be an idea for at least some of your items.

That is a really good idea. I've just got to see if I can sneak it past the OH...

Hmm, I kinda forgot about that! All I was thinking was that if I sent them, they may take 6-8 weeks to reach you. I forgot about the whole "customs has them so you need to hire someone to go get them" thing! Eek5

Keep in mind that personal shipments/gifts are totally different animals from commercial shipments, Hino.

Except when it was masquerading as a christmas gift ...... that time it took .... i want to say 2 months to arrive. It arrived around the 25 of January, I just don't remember if Hino sent the package WITH the christmas rush or not.

Hee hee hee! I have got away with it. All the boxes have been transferred from the old loft into the new loft and none of it has had to go on Ebay! Big Grin Admittedly, there is now stuff that is in the loft that I previously had easier access to, but hey, at least it's all still in the house and not away in storage or being sold.

I'm having a popping candy chocolate orange to celebrate.

And then I'm starting a diet tomorrow.
