I think the confrontation in the throne room makes a lot more sense in the BOTP version. In the Gatch version, Ken struggles pretty ineffectually against Katse while Jun and Jinpei basically do nothing to help, even though Jun could easily hit Katse's head with a "yoyo strike."

But Mark would more likely be only trying to restrain, not hurt, Zoltar, and Princess would probably believe captives must be treated humanely, not struck on the head.
