They really should be coming here, just to make sure they get it right. But, removing tongue from cheek and putting cynical hat on, why try and please us? They know peeps like us will see it what ever so they will try and rope in a different audience.

This post was bought to you by bitter experience and the words, Duran Duran and Red carpet massacre.

That is my feeling as well Veritas, why focus on the group you KNOW will watch - go for the new, younger generation. The people who will know nothing about the MAJOR canon information, so the writers can make things as they like.

My theory: K&J had been in love and then they broke off because of duties))
Or, I hope, creators may just ignore this «mistaken» fact Cheeky

Sigh, any serious intra-team romance in the new film, beyond some flirtation or kissing, would certainly be a deviation from canon (if not from fanfics!) but it's one that I doubt I would mind seeing!

Posted by gogirl212 on 16-04-2009 at 03:21:

As some canon deviations are to be expected, I think the least they can do is give us a little lovin' - If they put that in, I could probably forgive other things that I am bound to like less.

For me it wouldnt have to be an open and shut case eg; it wouldnt have to be a full on snog. I would just like little hints or scenes that when you saw them, you just knew.

Posted by Ebonyswanne on 16-04-2009 at 08:39:

IKWYM Veritas, even a subtle understanding would be better than him being a blind clueless dope and her a love struck fool....

Other than that I would like to see a balance in the action scenes. I love action movies but some end up boring me to tears half way though because there is no pause in it...you need a story line and action to compliment it not there for eye candy and thats it.

Kind of like what Battle of the Planets did, right? It's there, you know it's there, they know it's there, but .... it isn't so in your face.

Honestly ... the shipper in me says "Go the SNOG!!" I'm all over that like flies on shit...

Cloud pictures the preteen hints

Jun ends her gymnastic sequence with a flourish and then looks around to see if he was watching.

She gives a girlish giggle and then rushes over to Joe's side and whispers to him, "Did he notice? Was he watching? Go, ask him if he was watching?"

Joe rolls his eyes and takes a round about route to get over to Ken. "She wants to know if you saw what she did."

Well pretty much what everyone said. I too, wish they don't pull a '94 and try redoing everyone from scratch.

I DO wish we could see an epic orchestra score. Something like this:

But whatcha wanna bet there's going to be a bunch of fast-paced Techno, you know really fitting of that "Teen Action" vibe?

I would LOVE for the movie to have an orchestra score but it will probably be some rapper or boy band doing it.

Aw, that is what it's like when you're that young, isn't it? The coy, nervous and round-about ways of showing interest... It is so Joe to be just blunt and matter-of-fact, though! What do you envision Ken saying in response, CD?

Posted by clouddancer on 16-04-2009 at 23:36:

LOL
I guess it helps to work around grade 6-8 students - even though I teach grade 1. I see all this going on daily, on the playground and in the halls. It is quite funny to watch and the kids do not even think WE (teachers) know what is happening.

It is funny to watch the pairings join fall apart and new pairings start.

It is funny, I actually imagine Ken pinging Jun's communicator only to remain silent - listen to her voice, but not know how to respond. The other possibility is for him to send her email messages (or PM's) asking if she liked him and then her shutting down the computer and not giving a response. (all things I see happening with the students only they use their cell phones and emails instead of communicators) Wink

Yes, I could see Ken being attracted to her, but also shy and conscientious. It is funny how their communicator bracelets, which seemed so super-high-tech in the 70s, actually presaged cellphones in a lot of ways (except for the transmutation, course). My 13 year old nephew seems to spend a lot of time sending and receiving text messages, and no doubt a good many of them are to and from girls...

Thank you Springie, That flash came to me while sitting in my classroom after watching a classroom of 12 year olds "eat" lunch.

I guess now I can not claim I never get "flashes" of stories into my head. Just don't take it that it means I will be joining in any IF's yet .... I suspect my brain will still move too slowly to come up with something for one of those. Wink
