I love animals to Saturn...
I'd be shaking in boots if a shark found me facinating. This great whites follow surfers and there are always fatalities in the summer months in that region.

Katsesama, thanks for the news! I agree with EB, I really hope they scrap the samurai idea. Since there hasn't been an official origin story of Gatchaman it's pretty much wide open for them to do something interesting. I wish they would get Paul Dini back as a writer.

Yes, thanks so much for the updates - even if the movie news is not inspiring there is always room for hope. Maybe with all those gatchafolk there you should stage an infiltration of the Imagi booth? There is very little a yo-yo and a bridrang can't fix.

I thought it was slightly odd that they would show material that most likely isn't going to be used. I wonder if they did it just so they had "something" to show that progress is being made (start an early buzz??). That whole "ancient Samurai" thing though... Been done so many times in so many different ways! (I couldn't help but think of GoLion when I read that. And isn't there a Voltron feature film in the works?? Same basic concept if they go with the original Japanese concept!)
Either way, I think I will keep by status at "Cautious Optimism" for the film, at least until we hear more. Hopefully an update with concrete info will be released over the next few months.

Ok, maybe they just didn't have the right people there... They were probably from their promo or marketing department and were told that AstroBoy was their main and only focus... I'll keep my "cautious optimism" and hope that the people actually working on the film are more educated than the representatives were!!!

I agree, Hintori, that makes me nervous that they wouldn't know the Swan when she walks up to them. I hope they do their homework when Gatchaman comes out, if they just study BOTP they aren't getting the whole concept.
If they were just marketing people that's what you have concentrate on--marketing the latest project. So I'll grant them some leeway....for now.
