Uh, Met?? You know you just gave her directions to the Rubber Room, don't you?? And I'm pretty certain Ebony already knows where that room is! Cheshiregrin

Well she asked for directions, but she didn't say where to. Also, I just made up those directions and didn't even know that they led to the Rubber Room.

I ended up in a thread where they are talking maths...that was my WORST subject at school. I finally passed it in senior years for the first time.

I got put in all the lower grade classes for years... Bad memories of teachers treating you like you didn't have any intelligence. I was always better at other areas....

The I got a teacher in senior years who was excellent at finding where the student was struggling and thats when I finally began to not just pass but I actually finished up with high marks in my final exams.

Oh, whoops... Those were the secret directions... I forgot that only certain female Eagles knew those... Well, I guess I can let you enter through that passage, since you're the Eagle in Residence. Plus if I don't, since you're also the Temporary Frisker, I may be reprimanded in a way that I'm not sure I want to be! Eek

Nahhh Ebony has signed up for the revamp civies and Birdstyle section of Nambu's team.

There is a motive, I get to measure up the Eagle and the Condor...I'll take my time with the inside leg measurement...

Actually, i use maths in pattern making come to think of it....

That is just what i was going to say Ebony, and measuring is a math skill as well. You have to know where to start and stop and leave no spaces between the item you are measuring with. (Of course in grade 1 math we are using non standard items (hands, fingers, cards, paperclips) not rulers.)

Cloud turns to Ebony can I be your assistant? I might need to use my hands and fingers to check your measurements for accuracy Big Grin

Maths wasn't never my best or my favourite subject. In the First year of my Comphrensive school (the British High school version and I was only 12 at the time), my maths teacher was also my PE teacher whom I didn't like and was teaching us (so I was told years later) stuff slightly beyond what we were suppose to be teaching.

In the Second year, our maths teacher was different and was more helpful and I even had to go and see another teacher after school to help me with my maths.

Even so, I barely managed to pass my GCSE maths and I use to sometimes frustrate my dad when he asks maths questions and expected me to answer with seconds.

By the way is 1 + 1 = 11?

Well, I might have to ask Ken to frisk you if you don't let me through the secret passage. I am sure you will enjoy THAT type of frisking.

I need my fingers for basic math!! Crazy for a person who spent 20 years in a bank - but I have a symbiotic relationship with my calculator.

That said - my school years are 25 years behind me (!!!!!) so I have no idea what is taught in Australia now - but when I was at high school, Calculus was taught in Maths I in years 11 & 12.
