Oh, it's because of that shinny red button on the Phoenix's console?

I see you have looked over at the newcomer with delight...I suppose a Condor in command really should be something a Galactor commander such as yourself should be really worried about...
OK Amy... I know you have been trying to change the habit, and its good to see we have all moved on since them... |
|
Oh, Ebony, belive me, my worries concerning the Condor are on the positive aspect! Can not say the same thing for the Eagle!

<Hino bops into the thread>
"Hey, I hear we have a new Condor around! That's great!!" she enthuses.
She picks up the latest Gatchamania roster and confirms that Joeswench is indeed the newest Condor frequenting the boards. But then she purses her lips and scowls as she reads the additional information posted next to Joeswench's name.
"Hey, waiiittt a minute here! What's this?? Condor in Command??" she questions as she sits down and taps her fingers on the desk. She reflects thoughtfully for a moment, then picks up the pen laying on said desk.
"Ok, we just need to do this. And that. And... Ah, perfect!" she mumbles to herself.
When she's done, she gets up and posts the roster back on the wall.
The next person walks in and peeks at the roster.
"Joeswench..." they say, "but what's this? Someone scribbled out Condor in Command and replaced it with Condor (second) in Command. Hino!" they yell,
What's the meaning of this?"
Hino pokes her head back in the thread.
"Sorry, but if I'm the Eagle in Charge, we can't have a Condor in Command, because that would put the Condors over Eagles. So Joeswench is now Condor (second) in Command." she innocently explains as she walks back out and and waits for the tomatoes to be thrown.

There's an episode where the Condor tries to fly the phoenix. Forgotten which episode but he did nearly crash and I think the Swallow needed some clean underwear afterwards.
Now, the Swan in another episode COULD fly the phoenix.

But there wasn't an ep where Eagle flies the Phoenix! He would have crushed it, for sure!

You're soo right Hinotori its much more fun being second in Command.... I get to kick ass and take no responsibility for it thats the commanders job after all.
Just looking at that roster it says the condor won't be in command for at least another twenty years...

Ahh! That can be explained by the addtions made to the phoenix. The shape of the phoenix has been changed, and so are the aerodynamics making it HARDER to fly. That the Eagle was able to fly it with these alterations shows his great skill.
Try taking something you can do in your subconscious, like riding a bike or driving a car. Make changes to the vehical, like adding more weight or lift then get back into the same seat and try driving like you usually do. You can't - now you need to focus and concentrate more. That the Eagle was able to life the ship off the ground on his first attempt shows great skill.

CD is that an extract from your AU? Because I never saw the Eagle flying the God Phoenix!
He flew the smaller G1 and as for his pilot abilities, he did a great job in crahing it in a tree in the first ep of Gatch 2.
He might had impressive Ninja skills, but flying ships wasn't one of them!

No, Amy it is not from my AU it is from gatch I
We see him fly the phoenix when the team rescues Ryu from prison and keeps Galactor from taking the prisoners to use as agents.
I keep forgetting you have not seen Gatch I
So the question I have for you: Why does the Eagle crash into the tree in that eps.?
What I have read in the reviews of this episode explains why this happens. And it is not because he is a bad pilot.

All pilots can crash, even good ones...drivers too...
CD in your story the Eagle crashed in training, but he was exhausted, and not was experienced as he became during the war.
If the Eagles going to crash his jet or the God Phoenix then be damn sure he's gonna do a
good job of it...not some half hearted attempt....

You are correct Ebony. You hear of a lot of pilots in airshows and elsewhere who remain in their jets, planes, until the last possible moment making sure their ship will not injure the crowd or damage property before they bail out. I have used examples of this in a few of my stories.
