No, not quite... Since CD just made me curious and I looked it up, here's the Wikipedia description of it, which is pretty much what my take is on it. There are some variations to snipe hunting, but the "hunt" I went on was for the elusive bird that only comes out at night. We had the bags to try and catch it....

Anyway, here's the link for the full article.

Snipe Hunting

ETA

Hmmm, I just re-read my post... The elusive bird that only comes out at night, huh?? Sounds similar to a certain Eagle I know of.... (the White Shadow who slips in unseen!)

Yes... shooters...though most of my friends were anti-seafood.

As for guns my friend was trying to raise pheasants and something was getting into the coop and killing them, so he heard a comotion one night, took his shotgun and ended up blowing a hole in the side of the coop!

and thought...Oh we got us an internet snipe hunt going...LOL Laugh

Victim? I wasn't a victim, but only 'cuz I "persuaded" one of the hunt leaders to tell me what it was before we went. My friends, though, well, they weren't so lucky! (hmm, guess I had a little Katse in me back then!) Lol2

Several times...comes from a suburban redneck hanging out with the rural rednecks at their house parties.

Being the '80's, I had big blonde hair so I was a natural target. And even if I was 'sceptical' of the proposed hunt, ...hell it was something to do...something to add to the "No shit! There I was.." storybook.

Oh, I'm not saying I didn't go on the hunt, I just got the info on exactly what a snipe hunt was before I went! I still ran around the cemetery, screaming like a schoolgirl... Bounce2

Never fell for the whole snipe hunt, but I do know my brother convinced a new employee to try and catch a bucket of steam. After she returned in tears , he had to tell her the truth.

I must say i was an instigator for practical Jokes...

I did a beauty when I worked in sales on a guy who used to slack off because he was the boss and steal other peoples sales to make himself look better...(We found that he was putting his name on her sales then he'd get the commissions and the figures would go towards his targets!)

He ranted for days...(and we pissed ourselves laughing and tried to stifle it so he wouldn't work it out too soon.about the "parking ticket" he got after he moved his car for the tenth time that day...(he'd goof off and go for hours to walk past the competition with his brief case and puffed out chest to look important.)

Ebony and the girl he would steal sales(these had commissions and personal budgets attached to them.) He didn't figure it out for two days and then he tried to get me back for it!
