Hi all!

Is it known if there are plans to make more Gatchapin episodes at some future time?

None that I know of. Since it has been nearly a year since the last episode first aired, longer than any gap between the previous series, I would think that it is unlikely that they will be doing any more Gatchapin stories.

The ending to yesterday's episode does suggest this, with the "To be Continued."

It's possible that the production staff hoped they would be back with more, but I'd take this more as another example of the series having some fun.

Does going back to the first episode mean we'll see Pierre Katse again? I really liked him.

Yes, it does. So, Pierre Katse might be seen prowling the streets once again on Monday.

I hope so. I think the actor who played Pierre Katse did a really good job -I found myself empathizing with him even though I couldn't understand anything he was saying. And, since Gatchapin didn't speak at all in those episodes, Pierre Katse really carried the show.

I agree, Pierre Katse was the best villain! Although nothing beats those underwear ninjas... Wink

Pierre Katse was played by Pierre Taki, a Japanese entertainer. He's had acting roles, is a musician with the group Denki Groove, and is just a general all-around mass media personality on Japanese TV.

And I agree, he was the best villain in any of the Gatchapin series.

Hi all!

For those who missed any of the Gatchapin episodes that were available this week, all five episodes are now available for viewing over the weekend.

They can be found at:

http://www.fujitvkidsclub.jp/webchannel/index.html

The member ID and password you'll need to view it is:

As I've said, these are the last episodes in the series. Come Monday, it's likely that they'll be cycling back to the first episodes of "Go Go! Gatchapin" and going through the run again. While you're all welcome to watch them again as they come down, I won't be continuing to post the daily reminders of them (Though I probably will say something a few months from now if they go through the block of Science Ninja Team Gatchapin episode #'s 11~15 that they skipped over). Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed them!

Thank you so much James for setting this up, and for posting each day when the episodes come on. It has been a lot of fun watching them, and I know I would never have done so if you hadn't been so helpful to all of us with your assistance. Thanks

I guess that explains why he's "Pierre" Katse, then. Laugh1 I had wondered about that.

I got curious, and found Denki Groove on youtube.

As I've only seen "Pierre Katse" with a mask on, I'm not sure which of the two guys on stage is Pierre Taki.

Thank you, James, for bringing "Gatchapin" to my attention, and for making it easy for me to navigate a Japanese website to watch it.

If you really want to see what Pierre Taki looks like without the mask, here are several photos of him:

Thanks, James. Now I think that Pierre Taki is the one in front of the big screen in that video, not the one behind the turntable.

Guess what? The missing week is up! Episode 11 is available for viewing right now! And based on the 'preview shots', it seems that this week we learn how Mukkun got himself a mustache.

I'll warn you, this one is gross. It's the return of the 'licker'. Ewwwww.....

I'm glad we're getting to see the skipped over eps though!

Anyway, in case anyone cares, episode #11 of "Science Ninja Team Gatchapin" is "Asakusa's Special Product Great Pinch! The Mystery of the Wet Rice Cracker!"

It can be found at:

Today Gatchapin faces off against the Mystery Man Rice Cracker Licker!

Enjoy!

Bleagh! Sick1

If the spraying Pepsi was the best weapon, then the "licker" is the surely the worst villain!

There's actually a weapon coming up later this week that, at least in its usage, ends up being far more memorable than the Mentos & Pepsi weapons. You'll know it when you see it being used...!

Thank you James, unfortunately I missed yesterday's eps so I guess I will have to wait until the weekend to catch it.
