Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!

With any luck, this time tomorrow, I shall have a Wii! There'll be a little Mii all set up on the demo program and my right arm will be aching like it's never played a game before.

That's assuming me and/or husband can face the tangle of wires that twines about behind the tv. Hope he wires it in, and not me.

Its when your microwave starts up and your telly turns channel whilst using the Wii controller that you really have to worry hehehehehehe

And when the controller flies off somebody's wrist and embeds itself in the telly / fireplace / birdcage / window / someone's head.

I can't imagaine using the wii controller. Like yourself, I am worried that I kill something like telly, hi-fi, etc.

I have a friend who has a Wii (he bought it for himself as a birthday present, which is just as well as his wife messed up her amazon order and so didn't get him anything) and I've had a play with that. I didn't really want one before, since I'm no longer much of a games player. But having tried it out, I think it's justifiable almost as an item of exercise equipment.

Hubby got one for himself with his Xmas money.

Watching the 5-year-old box is hilarious; she really gets into it. I just wiggle the controller a bit.

Hubby played Zelda non-stop, and his wrists were fine. The new Zelda is awesome! Great plot, 60 hours of play (and he skipped some of the side-plots). Monsters seemed easier than usual, but we think that was intentional; they weren't sure about the control system and too hard would turn folks off more than too easy. The storyline makes up for it.

Heee heee heee, me has wii!

I got the Sonic game with it. Haven't tried that out yet, still having fun with the little sport games that come with the box.

I had to revive this thread

We (apparently) have a wii at the drop in I attend (for people with mental health issues, never mind Im healthy, its for AS folk too)

I only found this out on our website, I have been attending since xmas and never seen it.

So I got them to get it out tonight and we had a great time playing target shooting and table tennis.

I dont know how such a wonderfull item got past me...or anyone else.

The drop in is for people to socialise, but really they only stay for supper, then hie off to the church function to get more food.....

I got my social worker to get it out when we were alone, but next week, I think we will set it up earlier, people might stay longer

It does seem that the Wee...oops I mean Wii is doing well. The Xbox 360s aren't doing too well and I am waiting for my 2nd one to crash now. I have cancelled my Gold membership to the Xbox Live (online service) and will later this year buy a more reliable games consoole call a PS3.

About 2/3 years ago, I wouldn't have said that and with hindsight I would have bought a PS1 I saw in Asda about then, kept it until the PS3 would come out last year.

I got one on launch - and I've never dropped the wiimote or thrown it, or hit anyone, and I don't use the wrist strap.

I have no idea what people are doing to do those things by 'accident', and I honestly think that those people were either drunk, blind, or have very serious rage issues.

So! Games you MUST OWN as a wii owner;

No More Heroes
Super Mario Galaxy
Zak and Wiki

On my secondary list;

Metroid Prime
Mario Kart (if you don't already have one, it's just like the others, but a little better)

What, no Twilight Princess (Zelda)?!?! Must must must have!!

it was pretty good, but not godly. Plus it's getting old now. Everyone in the world should own No More Heroes. Well, everyone with a sense of humor. And can understand the jokes.

They find Wii-s are great for seniors homes. They're much more intuitive than the finicky thumb controllers, and use more of the large muscles.

Met, the XBox360 comes with a very good warranty, at least over here. One of the three factories did something wrong with the cooling system, so the "three rings of death" are common. They have the exchanges down to a couple of days (at first it was terrible) and they pay the shipping both ways. The courier knew exactly what the big empty box they sent us was for.

Cheers!

We have a Wii and its pretty much the only reason people come over to see us!!! :-P

We just got Mario Kart, WOW sooooooo much fun!!

When we are bowling on the Wii, my hubby ALWAYS smacks our lil toy poodle Joey in the head by accident. Poor Joey. He's such a sweet puppy.

Fortunatly, our XBoX 360 hasnt died. *phew* OurPS2 is biting the dust, tho. grrr

I'm still a die-hard Nintendo 64 and PS1 fan. It took me forever to get used to those controls. I can't even think about making the jump to wii. Shoot, I still play games that go back to '96. And I still love the original WarCraft. Anyone remember that? I had to download a special application just to make it compatible with Vista. Starts through DOS.
