Covey's 7 Habits

Finished reading it for the third time last month. First was actually listening, friend in school loaned a bunch of cassettes to everyone she could. (And you thought some of the Jehovahs were enthusiastic!) I worked through the assignments diligently.

Then two years ago in a rough bit, another friend recommended I read the book. Perfect timing, great advice. So much great advice I got overwhelmed and never finished it.

Not sure why I picked it up again this spring. Maybe I was ready to finish it. Or maybe it was after reading about Allen's Getting Things Done system.

Timeless advice. Great quotes. Even if you don't do the hard, introspective recommendations, it'll change your life, if you are willing to change it.

I think the hardest habit for me is the "Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." Two young kids, need I say more?

I've read only three books more than twice in my entire life.

I picked up its companion last week, Living the Seven Habits. First chapter is tearful, but the rest is easier. Very encouraging.

I'll definitely head over to that section every time I need encouragement. He and his group have written several more.

We ... won't comment on how hanging out here helps me to meet my goals.

Aha! Got it. Naturally, after I hit Send.

Retain my fun and insanity. It's like nature. Even though we an't too good at flying with the eagles or burrowing with the worms, we can still appreciate their company.
