I have the Princess comics, most of the BOTP comics(TopCow), The BOTP 25th edition DVD, The Ultimate BOTP collection DVD, Gatch OAV, BOTP trading Cards, the entire set of BOTP episodes, and all of the ADV Gatch sets that have been released...and I still want more! Gift Gatch

Gawd... I've been collecting Gatch stuff since 1997. My collection of toys and memorabilia is huge and I haven't catalogued it. I didn't realise how much stuff I had until it came to time to move it from the place it was in to somewhere else in the house - now it's all over the house in boxes.

In series terms, I have:
Various original UK release BOTP tapes.
The original Tatsunoko Gatchaman DVDs for all of Gatchaman 1 (not for Gatch 2 or F as I rather hoped they'd come out as subtitled bootlegs).
Every episode of G-Force as taped from the uk version of the sci fi channel
Some episodes of Gatch 2 subtitled on DVD
Gatch F on tape
All but 2 episodes of BOTP taped from Bravo UK - they replaced episodes 2 and 4 with the G-Force versions
Ever episode of Eagle Riders (I think) on tape
Very old, many copy generations down, subtitled Gatchaman from Alara Rogers scripts
The G-Force episodes released on DVD in the UK
30 episodes of "La patrouille des aigles", which is Eagle Riders dubbed in french - that made it to an official DVD release in France
The Playback UK BOTP DVD set and the Mollin DVDs
The official OAV DVD and also a bootleg copy (to see if it was any different, and I don't think it was)
The Rhino DVDs
The ADV DVDs up to vol 6 - I'm determined to wait until a UK Amazon marketplace reseller starts listing them rather than buying from Amazon.com
One set of the bootlegs of subtitled Gatchaman (not the set with Alex Ross covers that people seem to think are official because they've got Alex Ross artwork on them)
A mini dvd (or video cd, I can't remember) showing a cleaned up version of 2 of the BOTP episodes when they were still in the planning stage of being put on DVD - I have the vague idea this might be the "destruction of center neptune" episodes with a redone sountrack but I just can't remember
The Gatch movie subtitled on DVD
"Heroes del Espacio" - spanish dubbed wierd Korean mini-version of Gatchaman that looks like Gatch 2 but everything has been redrawn, which presumably meant the Koreans thought they weren't breaking any copyright with Tatsunoko
One of the Tatsunoko Specials on DVD, mainly about Time Bokan but featuring some Gatchaman too

I think that's the lot.

You should put your G-Force on DVD.

Me more than you Metaliant Snore
I do have only the BOTP comics and the Princess spin-off. Then I have some episodes of the first serie and some of Gatch F.
Unfortunately here I can find only the BOTP dvd (that I refuse to buy, I can't stand Zark). They have still to release the dvd of the original serie Shrug

Posted by meridianday on 12-07-2006 at 08:12:

The OAVs came out in an italian subtitled version. Dunno if that's still easily available though.

I'm planning on getting a DVD recorder and transferring my G-Force to DVD, and also any other rarities I've got that will transfer. That'll take a long time to do though, given how little personal time I have at the moment.

You can, yes. There are DVD recorders that have both a DVD recorder and a tape player in them. But I'm going for one with a hard disk instead, since that means I can record the tapes into it and then edit out the adverts.

Lessee. Not much on DVDs.

I have the BotP DVDs (American release) volumes 2-4
The Best of G-Force DVD
Gatchaman OAVs
A whole slew of G-Force episodes on VHS that have pretty much been played to death (in other words, I managed to wear out the tapes. Yay.)
Takara Cool Girls Jun figure (original version)
Yujin Gatchaman figure set
Gashapon Tatsunoko PVC set (comes with Ken, Joe, and figures from other series)
Ken 8" figure (the one in the classic pose)
All of the Top Cow comics, including the art book

And those VHS-to-DVD recorders (which also record regular things on DVD) are FABULOUS. I shall eventually own one. Prices here in the states look to be about $80 and up.

Yep, go for the DVR with decent-sized harddrive. We were too cheap. (was $200 difference, and in too much of a rush to wait for the price to go down.) We can take out commercials, and go right to the show we want without rewinding the tape (ok, where on the tape is it?), and all the blank space gets combined (as opposed to you've deleted 30 minutes of commercials but still can't fit a 20 minute show on the end of the tape).

But it would be nice not to have to shuffle the discs around, and to be able to burn a "good" copy right on that machine rather than on the computer.

Ah, well. Only another 8 years before it's likely to fail and we'll get another chance at the market.

You can wire a VHS machine to a DVD recorder fairly easily, if you don't get them in the same machine. Something we keep saying we'll get serious about, archive some of the VHS tapes.
