Ah the quiet months
Well it appears to be that time of year, where the sun is shining, kids are on summer break, people are on their holidays and the forums quieten down for the summer months. 
Enjoy your summer and do not worry about Gatchamania we'll be right here when you get back

I like holidays. This one was quite a large family holiday since two of my husband's brothers and one of his sisters, together with some of their children came along, and my parents too. The parent side was a bit odd because they're not beach people, but they got to sit in the cafes and watch the world go by, and I think they enjoyed it. They got to see that the sea really is that blue in the Mediterranean at least - I don't know how many times they've told me that the sea is only that blue in the brochures because the pictures are retouched, and it's only that blue in people's holiday photos because the photo processing companies do some special thing to enhance the colours

New air conditioner in new house couldn't get it below 27C yesterday. Outside was 31.
Two sales reps said get the smaller size; the larger was nuts. The third said get one size larger. We went with the majority.
Maybe balancing the heat ducts will help. Seems to be a lot of cold air being pumped into the already cool basement. Yes, we need to pump some air in down there so it'll push itself into the cold-air-return, but maybe there's too much. We'll see. Also have to check if there even is cold air return vents in the basement.
Friend who's helping heard we were going to replace the baseboard in the upstairs bath, so he removed it before painting. Except, the replacing was planned for fall. So now we have the bottom of the plaster walls several inches from the edge of the vinyl floor, and have to put in baseboard before I can seal it. (Unless I really want all the water splashed from the bath to seep down around the floor edges.)
Fun, fun. Last two months, my mantra has been, "It will be worth it."

I'm off for my second holiday of the year. I'm towing our caravan about 170 miles down to the south coast, with child on board (in the car not the caravan). Wish us luck, and I'll see you in a couple of weeks.
