To the Most Honourable Members of Westernmost Canada (and US)

CBC News re Vancouver slipping West

Would the members there please remember that the phrase "move the earth" is not to be taken literally.

Failing that, take care!

Well, continental drift doesn't just stop because it's the modern ages. Interesting to watch it happen, though. What's this mega-thrust earthquake thing they're talking about? I have several ideas of what they could mean, but I'm not sure on any of them (heck, I'm just guessing).

Perhaps there are too many anime fans there, though, that are causing the island to get as close to Japan as possible? That'd be my guess (if continental drift is wrong, that is).

Thats a good theory, is it provable?

Posted by Elvin Ruler on 15-09-2005 at 12:16:

About as provable as continental drift itself, though many scientists hold it to be true. I'm no scientist, by far, but if all the earth at one point was one large continent (which is taught in schools), and then slowly split apart and drifted away (also taught in schools), and took millions of years to do this (also taught in schools), then it makes sense that it wouldn't stop. In fact, it'd make more sense that technology would prove it to be true *and* continuous. In fact, NASA says I'm right: NASA teaches children! Ack!

And another look

Oh. Wait. Did you mean that or the anime fans? Mmm. The anime fans is more or less based on my own research. It makes sense to me, but I have no scientific evidence to prove it. Yet.
