Devil Star Information.

Could anyone please provide a detailed profile on Devil stars, their exact occupation and duties within Galactor, when they appeared in Gatchaman, how they stacked up with their BOTP counterparts, how the ISO/ Gatch team viewed them, any famous/ infamous Devil Stars, and most importatantly any links within Gatch fandom that can provide more insight?

They only appeared in Gatch 1. Katse was more of an equal opportunity employer than Gel Sadra or Egobossler. Also I have read that they weren't really called Devil Stars, but that the name of the spiky craft they travelled in was the Devil Star.

They didn't appear in a huge number of episodes either.

However, Joe's parents were killed by a Devil Star. So they've been around for a while - I can't really envisage Katse having been leader of Galactor 10 years earlier although since nobody knows exactly how old Katse is in the series it's just guesswork.

And of course there was that girl Joe arranged to go racing with who turned out to be a Devil Star too.

In BOTP they were the Galaxy Girls. I don't think they actually got a name in G-Force.

Im actually startled to discover that there really is very little if any info on Devil Stars!!

How can this be? A plethora of sites, and not one with sufficient info on Devil stars??!!

think Ive driven myself crosseyed trying to glean whateva scraps I can together, but in my efforts skimming over so many sites, I did come across some info regarding Berg Katse's age. It said BK was about 28-32 in Gatch series 1, making hir old enough (about 18 -20 at the time) to remember Joes parents as Galactor defectors.

It will be sheer speculation if BK was even in a high enough rank within Galactor back then to have ordered the Devil Star hit on the Asakuras.

Ep 31 " Plan to Assassinate Dr. Nambu" is the one well known episode where Devil stars, are featured and Joe's background is revealed (I think).

and I keep coming up with episode 66 about some fashion show in my searches..

Only other info I managed to find is Wendy's reply back in 1999 in another Gatch/BOTP forum about what Devil stars looked like , the answer being as follows:

"The Devil Stars wear red jumpsuits trimmed in
thick black fur at the wrists, neck and boots. There
are orange stars at the chest. They wear masks and
wigs of various colors."

And thats about it!!

thats as cannon as it gets , everything else I find is either in fanfiction involving Devil stars or in fan art .

So far Meridian, it looks like your site is the only fansite with enough relevant info on Devil Stars, and Emby Quin's fanart on her version of Devil stars!

Goes to prove how sometimes interpretation and perspective can be more satisfying than cannon fact!

That pic is from episode 66 - in the earlier episodes, all the Devil Stars have black fur instead of white.

In episode 31, as well, the Devil Stars all get different hair and mask colour combinations, whereas later in the series they all become the same as each other.
