Busy Autumn

Well, my autumn is going to be very busy, at least until October.

School started last Monday. I have 13 credits this semester. I'm taking chemistry, literature, and two psychology courses, environmental psychology and gender psychology. (Next semester, I have 14 credits, five of them in organic chemistry, but that's another rant for later). The gender psychology class is going to be tough because the tests are from the lectures, so it means I can't miss class.

And then, in early October, my son is getting married. He lives in Wisconsin and it's an 8 hour drive from where I live (Sioux Falls) to where he lives. But entirely by coincidence, his wedding falls around midterms, so I can't miss classes. (They picked the date over a year ago. School has to work around this.) I'm either having a midterm or I'm having a review for a midterm in the days before and after his wedding. My husband is driving out on Wednesday, and I have to spend the extra on a plane ticket to fly back to Wisconsin. We're riding back together on Monday, October 12th.

I'm both looking forward to this wedding and not ready for him to get married. I adore my future DIL. It seems like it was yesterday I was sending him to Kindergarten and now he's getting married.

*sigh!* You just made me think about the first time I met my great-nephew Christopher (it was also when I started raising him)...that will be 20 years ago this January...

Hola!

Wow!!! I guess for those of us who are still single this is something to look for in the future. Your son is about to commence his own personal journey and you have the blessing to be with him, that's awesome! All the best!

I admire your tenacity and the strong will of continue studying. Those subjects sound very complicated but the psychology ones should be very interesting. Go ahead, you can do it even though the road ahead looks long and sometimes hard!!!

Reading what you commented about your son growing so fast, reminded me of my nephews. They were babies in my arms and now they can carry me

It sounds like it's a tough road, but you're able to plan it out and work around the obstacles. Treasure the moments, and before long, you might even have grandchildren to cuddle!

Bowdown MsAnn, I bow to your courage to take classes in all these subjects!

All the best to your son, and your family, as he starts this new phase in his life!

This week has been insane! Saturday (Oct 10) is the wedding. I'm trying to pack and get organized and study for midterms at the same time. I'm not having much luck with the multi-tasking. Eek5

Well, one midterm is out of the way. The rest are next week. It's so hard to believe that this is here already!

It will be hectic but worth it. You're family is growing but it is hard to let that last string to our children break when they get married. Thank goodness you like your future DIL.

Safe trip both directions!

I'm back. The wedding was perfect. Smile I hope that now that this is over, everything settles down for my son and daughter-in-law. He started a new job on Monday and she, hopefully, can resume treatments for her medical condition. (She has problems with her liver).

I don't think I ever mentioned this, but my son is a Gatcha-fan. When I upgraded my DVD's to Blu-Ray, he inherited my box sets and he still watches them.

Yay, congrats to you and to them! I'm sure everyone will be glad to get back to their routines and making new ones as needed. Smile That's a lot of change your son has going on there all at once!

Another second generation Gatch fan. It's amazing how we influence our children.

My kids enjoyed Gatchaman back when they were toddlers and I was watching it for the first time. now my daughter has really gotten into it again and is definitely in the Gatchafan camp!

Isn't it fun to see our kids sharing our interests? Wink

My son got into it when BoTP was first put out on DVD and I bought those. He was around 8 or so. Then, the rest is history... Smile
