We need a little good news!

It was starting out like any other morning. I transferred from my bed to the wheelchair. I reached down to take the brakes off...only to have the left brake come off in my hand. Not just the handle -- the whole freakin' brake mechanism!

I might not know much, but I was pretty sure that wasn't supposed to happen.

I called the medical equipment company I got the chair from (just six months ago!), and they sent a replacement over as quickly as possible. And this one is a much nicer model than the one I had. Pleased

To be honest, Becky, I wouldn't be surprised if that model gets recalled; the brake came cleanly off -- it looked like it had never been attached to the metal frame. At any rate, it had become a serious safety risk: if the chair moved while I was transferring in or out of it, I could have fallen and been seriously hurt.
