Baby Mark Arrived!!!!

E.D. put so much loving attention into this that I wanted to make a fun arrival post ...

So, this heavy package arrived today. It’s pretty heavy! Wondering what it could possibly be, I opened it, and saw this:

Intrigued, I kept going. Within the packing peanuts I found this dense, heavy bundle:

What is it? A mummy? Someone knows I have a love of history?

No matter what it is, the plastic wrap needs to come off … and it seems to be in a cozy little blanket …

Look who it is!!!!!!!!!

Baby Mark!!!

He has a ton of little outfits! I couldn’t wait to get him into those airplane jammies E.D. showed us, so I started with those. In the process I thought I’d show what he looks like mostly nekkid. His body is cloth and cuddly soft.

I can so imagine canon Mark/Ken being put in these by his parents:

Of course, I couldn’t resist going right to the baby Eagle birdstyle after that:

Hopefully he’s comfy because I love looking at him in this. Smile Fortunately he’s pretty patient because I don’t have children and am not experienced with handling babies. I wanted to make sure to get a closeup of the little charm bracelet E.D. included:

How perfect is that?

There were some other things in the box, but while I was fishing them out, visitors started to show up. Apparently the toys in my BOTP/Gatch collection are nosy critters. The first to show up was the biggest troublemaker:

He wanted to know if this was a child or a mecha! I think knowing this kid is going to get bigger made him nervous. Especially when this happened:

He tried telling baby Mark that maniacal villains don’t cuddle, but Mark wasn’t hearing it. Though, once the chewing started, I couldn’t really blame Zoltar for getting squirmy. I took pity on him and rescued him:

Unfortunately, showing mercy to Zoltar isn’t a good idea. He got petty and sent a goon to exact revenge. However, the goon just got chewed and slobbered on and ran away crying:

When Gatchaman heard all the crying and whining, he had to come check out the new arrival. I’m pretty sure I heard him say, “Oh my god, he’s gonna be HUGE! We’re gonna win this war!”

He was so enthused that he even suffered a cuddle at the hands of the giant cutie:

You know that the Swan absolutely could not resist when she heard there was an adorable — if massive — baby Eagle on the premises:

And you know she would absolutely not be able to resist a massive cuddle:

Oddly, the Condor vanished, muttering something about fearing he’d get diabetes if he got too close. Neither was the Swallow, who was terrifed he’d get diaper changing duties, and the Owl was supposed to drop by but took a nap instead since the kid’s not going anywhere. Nambu also conveniently disappeared. I think he was afraid there would be tugging on his moustache.

I returned my attention to going through the box, once everything looked safe, and before I knew it baby Mark had gotten his hands on the G-1:

I let him play with it for a bit while Gatchaman watched nervously, fearing for his plane’s safety, though I’m not sure how he fits in it since it’s far smaller than him. Then I rescued it from his baby clutches before anything bad could happen. Before I even turned around again, the baby Turtle King had come to check out its future nemesis!

I finally said enough was enough and had to block off the other toys before they could get involved. That finally let me go through the rest of what was in the box. Included is this helpful and cute care and feeding letter:

Along with this sweet card:

There were also some unexpected surprises! Like this awesome artist reference:

Mark thinks it’s actually a reference on how to be cool since it’s action poses. He asked me what this second reference was for and I said it was for people who like to cuddle …

Hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Thanks so much to E.D. Darling! What awesome craftsmanship and what a generous prize. Smile I’ll make sure he gets a safe spot away from curious canines!

You can find the full collection of pics here.

I'm a little bit confused with your comments,
I'm afraid you might misunderstand my words.

I'm TRYING to have a baby, it means I'm not a pregnant yet.

But anyway, thank you for your early congrats! Smile

Posted by ElectricWhite on 18-11-2014 at 13:18:

Sorry about the misunderstanding!

But some say that, if you imagine it, it will come to pass. So, with all these folks behind you, it's sure to happen!

(And I'm keeping my crochet hooks handy!)
