I've heard about these. They happened a lot apparently during the big artic air drop last month.

We were getting a lot of these frost quakes in our area during the arctic vortex cold we had a few weeks back. I think there was about one reported on the news every couple of nights.

Usually it happened at night (that is when the temps got to their coldest) when everyone was asleep and the "boom" would wake people up afraid their house was falling down around them. Luckily I slept through most of them.

We had a nice collection of 'snow rollers,' forming in pretty much any open place. Now they are all gone, melted. I kinda miss them.

Eeeek! Don't even want to read this! With all the earthquakes we have in Greece -- there is now a series of big ones on the island of Kefallonia -- I freak out even at the word "quake"!
