Aw, thanks, guys. You really made my day. I celebrated in true (post)communist fashion - with work, work and more work. I did buy myself a small box of seashell-shaped chocolates though. And what a happy surprise, to see a thread just for this, after returning from my afternoon shift. You're the best!

Thanks a lot, everyone. My chocolates were delicious. The belated wine I'm having now is really tasty. I'll drink to your health as well. (There was no time during the week, but yesterday I cooked Stroganoff, beef tartare and pear and walnut frangipane tart for myself. It was a great birthday dinner, as I managed to get my hands on a lovely piece of beef.)

Haha... if it makes you all feel better, while I was at it I also made a big portion of Bircher muesli for my breakfasts for the next week. All in all, it took me about 2.5 hours to cook and clean everything. Stroganoff is pretty easy. (Next weekend: celeriac soup, nikujaga and chocolate & walnut brownie with custard ((if I feel like staying in the kitchen for a bit longer)) or cinnamon panna cotta with plums ((the faster option)). And maybe some shortbread inbetween.)
I only regret I don't have an ice cream machine. I know recipes for some seriously delicious ice creams, like 'white chocolate and cardamom', 'milk chocolate, yoghurt and tonka bean' or 'cinnamon breadcrumb'. I... hope you didn't gain even more weight from reading this. Sorry.
