School marm?

I think you need to go stand in the corner, EW.

You're so lucky, LW! Even if a subbed DVD version of the movie becomes available, there's something special about seeing a movie on a big screen, with an audience.

If Gatch II were made now, poor Joe probably would be a zombie instead of a cyborg. Or, a vampire. Smirk

Sadly, I think you're right! Frown

I love your Joe zombie avatar. I believe the vampire era of 1990-2010 has been knocked out by the zombies and apocalypse eras. I haven't read a good vampire book in a while.

A lot of scientists seem to think we're due for another big pandemic, say, like the influenza one in 1918 that killed about a 100 million people. The BF and I were (mostly entirely) joking yesterday that the whole zombie trend is really social engineering to prepare us to be ruthless towards pandemic-infected people. After all, people have suggested the earlier vampire trend was due to the AIDS crises.

Posted by Becky Rock on 05-10-2013 at 03:19:

I would agree on the upcoming pandemic - our population has been skyrocketing and nature has a way with dealing with such things. There are also many scientists who believe AIDS is nature's way of dealing with the fact we've cured so many cancers.

The question is what form the next one will take.
