One More Small Gatchaman Crowds Update

Hi all!

As we head toward the final episode of Gatchaman Crowds, the Gatchaman Crowds website has updated again to include information on Berg Katze's G Suit. You can see a picture of this G Suit here:

Here's what little they have to say regarding this new G Suit:

NOTE Ability "NOTE of Fortune Calamity Pleasure Misfortune"
Provoking confusing in living beings, it's ability specializes in causing quarrels.

And it all comes down to the exciting conclusion in an episode titled "Collage," airing next Friday!

That is ... different... Not sure if I like it or not.

Thanks James.

WHy is it a G suit is Katse is wearing it? Maybe in this case 'G' stands for Galactor?

Sigh... everything I hear about this show just turns me off more and more.

Well, we've certainly seen how effective he is at causing confusion and quarrels in people, just by kissing them -seems like he doesn't have to necessarily be transformed to do it...

I'm certainly going to be tuned in next Friday!

I don't think Katse is supposed to have a G-Suit at all, but rather that it's more like, say, if Berg Katse in the original series had been able to steal the technology from Dr. Nambu (or get it somehow from the same source that Dr. Nambu got it from, such as benevolent aliens) and make himself a birdstyle. In Crowds, it seems as though you have to first have a NOTE before you can have a G-Suit, and everyone on the team was given their NOTEs by JJ. Katse, there, seems like he's possibly the same sort of alien that JJ is (ie. both are extremely tall and speak in riddles) but it's not been said how/where Katse got a NOTE of his own.

I've seen most of the current episodes, and while it does get better after the first two, it's not a show I'm crazy about.

It is entertaining, but IMHO (and nothing against people who really enjoy the show, of course) aside from the characters names there is nothing about it that reminds me of the original Gatchaman. Frown

I guess "Crowds" is supposed to be a "re-imagining" or something similar? (like what was done with "BSG"--though I did enjoy that).

To each his own, but I definitely prefer the original. Just call me "old fashioned" I guess. Wink3

Im enjoying it thoroughly. I love the characters, they are not our team, of course, and the way they do things is different.

Its an interesting take on technology and how it could be used.

(says she who does not have any sort of mobile phone; in spite of family pleading, and indeed pleading of society at large...)

It may be a fine show on its own, but I just can't get past that 'Gatchaman' labeling. To me, it feels like a nasty 'bait and switch'. If they want to have a brand new anime show, that's fine. But calling it 'Gatchaman' is like a slap in the face to fans of the original show. I have seen a few episodes and find that I just can't get past that awful feeling in the pit of my stomach whenever they try to flaunt the 'Gatchaman' stuff in my face.

So if I want to watch a new anime show, there are plenty out there. I don't need one that makes me feel badly when I watch.

And Tengu, I don't have a cell phone either. I'm too cheap. Wink
