Migraine & other musings

Headache

This is not fair! I was good! I resisted all of the ooey gooey temptations tonight while out at dinner and stuck with soup and a salad (which were actually quite tasty but not chocolate!) and I still have a migraine. Or, more accurately, I have the beginnings of a migraine, which feels like someone is pulling out individual hairs by the roots. I literally feel like my hair hurts. This sucks, it really sucks and I know I am devolving into a whine-fest (whimper), so thanks for listening. It's nice to have a safe place to rant.

I wonder if the team came in here to the rant room ... what would they complain about?

Zark: Why doesn't anyone ever *listen* to me?
Tiny: That damned machine is out of space burgers again! hungry
Princess: I know he loves me, why won't he ever show it?
Keyop: And just why can't I keep bugs in my room?
Mark: I really hate Cronus.
Jason: Bullets. Need more $&)€%# bullets!! Takethat

whine all you want..

When your hair hurts and you feel like someone need to remove your head before it explodes..you have every right to vent

Hope it eases soon

Julie, I hope you were able to get some rest and ease off that migraine.

BTW: I like your musings on the possibility of the teams rants. Although I suspect Mark's rant would be more along the line of I shouldn't hate Cronus, he sacrificed so much/himself, but I do hate him.

Huggles Julie. Just imagine yourself channeling Jason... now you understand how he feels when he has to shoot a missile and his head is spinning...

CD: Good point. Mark is too reserved to express himself that way. Perhaps my own biases are showing ... Ya think? Wink I really should do a story in first person as Cronus - or Don - for the hated first person challenge.

I would look forward to seeing what you would do with Don or Cronus' point of view. But I can understand how hard that can be as well, considering in my mind, but not on "paper', I have tried doing it and have not been very successful. I usually find myself switching back to Mark of Jason's POV.

Mark and Jason are my favorite POV's too. I've also enjoyed writing from Keyop and Tiny's POV. I've tried a few with Princess, but I think I have the least affinity for her POV. Not sure why. It might be fun to try writing from the Chief's POV. What if there's all sorts of swearing and anger smoldering behind that calm facade? I still think he's too much like Jason not to fight with him. And their eyebrows are the same! LOL. You know you've been watching too much Gatch/BotP when you start comparing the eyebrows of the characters.

I hate to break the mood and ask, but is stress one of your triggers?

FWIW, that is one of the few things BotP got right in a backwards sort of way, and Gatch got way wrong. Attributing Jason's symptoms to stress and injury, was more accurate than what Gatch did with Joe.

On my list of books to get (when I have extra money to get unlimited books) are TBI Hell and TBI Purgatory. They are written by a man who lives with a traumatic brain injury. This man could be Joe, if Gatch was right about his injuries.

As for rants, I'm not sure that Jason would rant about bullets. He'd rant about Mark whining about Cronus and not doing his job, and if he didn't want to move out of the way.

What's the rant room for, if not to rant? yell

Just a thought about what could have triggered the migraine -- could you have had some MSG in your food? My dad didn't suffer from migraines, except for the times when he ate something with MSG in it -- then he would be out for at least a day.

Ame - Definitely. My head is my weakest link (that sounds bad doesn't it?). Everything gives me headaches: stress, caffeine, MSG, loud noisy children ...

Doesn't that describe ALL children? Wink

And quite a few adults.

Julie, take it easy, and make sure to sip plenty of water. My kids think I'm crazy because my answer to everything is water, either drinking it, soaking in it, or standing in a hot steamy shower. If it doesn't cure it, it will at least ease the symptoms.

Julie, I sympathise!

As a fellow migraine-sufferer, I know the feeling when you want to just cut off your head to make the pain stop... In my case it's like having a pencil shoved into my eye...very localised.

But I saw a major improvement (knocks on wood!) by taking magnesium tablets regularly. Maybe you could ask your pharmacist about them.

In the meantime, lower the lights, and snuggle into bed! Hope you feel better soon!
