Somewhat Off Topic...

...I was just lighting my cinnamon candles and wondering...what are everyone's favorite fragrances?

For me...it depends on the season...

Spring= Lilac (there's also a blue Yankee Candle I love- Bay Breeze)
Summer= Honeysuckle, Gardenia and Ginger Peach (it's a Pier One fragrance)
Fall= Pumpkin Spice
Winter= Cinnamon (except for the month of December- it must be Balsam Fir!)

And I haven't found anyone yet who doesn't like Vanilla! I like it, too...

I notice that a lot of people (including me) have Princess/Jun wearing a Jasmine fragrance.

So...let's hear from you!

I'm not really a 'fragrance' person, meaning that I don't wear perfume or use air fresheners in my home. That being said, I love scented soaps and shampoos. I think I like the berry ones the best. Vanilla is nice too. And at Christmas it's fun to have pine soap and peppermint bark shampoo.

I tend to avoid scented stuff (perfumes, laundry soaps, air fresheners, etc.) except for things like shower gels. With those I tend to like non-florals since a lot of the florals make my nose itch. Tongue People wearing strong perfume also tend to give me an instant sinus headache. Vanilla is definitely at the top of my list. Last time I stopped by the Body Shop I got a few different citrus shower gels, though, as they're good for waking me up. I have a massive sweet tooth but I never choose the chocolate ones. It sounds too sweet to use for washing and I figure it'd just make me crave chocolate. Smile

Vanilla and cinnamon!
But some reason, I don't like mint.

ETA: And the best smell in the world: coffee!

I don't like "fragrance," vanilla...Now the real stuff, as in baking cookies, yum!

My favorite candle at the moment is one from bath and body works called "Moroccan Market." But I ususally like ones called "Fresh Linen," or "Sea Breeze," too. So spicy or clean scents. Natural sandalwood, or gingers are nice too.

I also like Lavender, but my kids hate it...

I love Magnolia tree blooms. Got a big one in my backyard.

I tend not to like things that are scented, mostly because my allergies act up or I get headaches from them. In terms of candles there are a few scents that I tend to light but only once or twice a year - vanilla, and cranberry being two of them.

I do use a couple of natural oils though - Lavender, Rosemary, and Tea Tree Oil. The first to help "calm me" and help me get to sleep at night. The last two are I use as mental stimulators to help me be more alert or to wake me up.

I don't use fragrances too often, either (lifelong asthmatic). But, when I do, I usually go for a citrus scent in the summer and apple pie around the holidays. (Of course, vanilla's a good, reliable fragrance.)

Me, too, but when I do I stick to the ones I know, and rather generic ones at that: vanilla, mint, cinnamon, pine, and lavender (one of the few florals that does not induce hay fever). I avoid grassy smells and heavily perfumed musks and florals.

I don't wear perfumes very often, hardly ever, but will wear light body sprays of vanilla or lavender depending on what is on sale or my mood.

The one smell that I really have a problem with is the musty smell of a hearty red wine such Cabernet or Merlot. Not a good thing considering where I live.

Citrus blossoms (should be coming up for the Orlando-Tampa round trip in a couple of weeks - for almost a month!)
Vanilla
Violet...

I like the cin, van, and pine scents too, but sometimes my allergies get the best of me and I can't stand them in an enclosed area. My B/H liked to burn the sticks but they get too strong for the house. Another thing is the fresh campfire smell, especially left on my clothes when I come back in, brings my mind back to childhood

I'm partial to Yankee Candle's Christmas cookie candles, even when it's not Christmas. I like the vanilla cake scents.

As far as scents to wear, there's a couple of Victoria's Secret body sprays that I like. I guess I'm partial to foods and florals, but when it comes to soaps - like Bath & Body - it's all citrus & fruits because florals tend to give me rashes.

I like rose and lilac scented things, but I also have to be careful, because strong scents trigger migraines. I always spray the air first and walk into the scent (saw that in a movie one time) or the scents overpower me.

Daniella: I love the smell of coffee too! I used to visit a specialty cooking store when I lived in North Carolina and I'd lift all of the lids on the glass jars of coffee for sale ... Mmmmmm.
