Hey, I thoght that Megas XLR episode was really good! And I could blame all the embarrassing bits on Power Rangers and Voltron... Apparently there's another one in the 2nd season that's got Zoltar in it too.

Yes I saw it the other day thanks to a friend taping it for me.
Zoltar is Zorin and they drew him really well. I thought it was pretty funny.
The end credits were cut off but I am willing to bet that it was Tim Curry's voice for the purple one.

Okay I did some nosing around and I was wrong on two counts. The villain name is Zarek and the voice is Jeff Bennett.
