Some things just can't be explained ...
OK, so this weird thing happened to me yesterday and I thought I would discuss it here because if anyone would understand, a fellow Gatchamaniac would.
I was having a really crappy day yesterday, bad enough that I seriously thought about venting here in the Rant section, but I didn't really want to talk about it, I just didn't want to be alone.  My grandmother is nearing the end of her life, with all of the attendant drama and misery.  I know, from reading these boards, that so many of you are experiencing similar situations with your own family members and I'm sorry for your pain.  I'm grieving for her like a child, with the pain of losing my grandpa all over again added into the equation.
So, this was my frame of mind when I brought a half-dozen Krispie Kreme doughnuts to my friend's house and collapsed in a puddle on her sofa.  I didn't really want to talk, I just wanted to find something safe and comforting onTV.  We couldn't find the Golden Girls (my favorite background show when I'm upset), but Hub TV was showing some oldies: Mork & Mindy, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley.
It was in the middle of Happy Days when it happened.  My friend had her hand on the remote, just about to mute the scene, when I stopped her.  It was Jason's voice.  Now, I know Ronnie Schell is an actor along with being a voice actor.  In some remote part of my brain, I even knew that he had guested on Happy Days because I looked up clips of him on You Tube one time.  But I've never stumbled upon any of his work by accident.  If my friend had muted the TV just five minutes before, I would have completely missed his scene - it was just a bit part and, although I've seen pictures of Schell, I never would have recognized him.
I felt like I had seen a ghost.  It was the weirdest feeling.  In all the years that I've written fan-fic and loved these characters - especially Jason - I have never had an experience like that.  I got the message that I am loved and not alone.  But I'm still not quite sure who sent it.

I think your grandpa might have stopped by to give you a little comfort. Some people think I'm nuts for believing this, but I think the spirits of some of those who have gone on before us can come back when someone they love is under emotional turmoil. It's possible that he sensed the grief you're feeling and helped nudge the circumstances so that you'd hear Ronnie Schell's voice and feel some comfort.
I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. There's nothing in the world like the bond formed between a grandmother and her grandkids, so it's only natural for you to be taking it so hard.
Just remember you've got lots of people here who will keep you in their thoughts and prayers. Don't be shy about letting us know when you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to listen to you vent a little.

Other people may call it serendipity, but I'm more inclined to agree with ElectricWhite's explanation!

Some people will scoff and call it a coincidence of network programming. Others will say it was 'divine intervention'.
Does it really matter what it was?
The most important thing is you found the comfort you needed and the message was received loud and clear.
I lend my voice to EW's - don't be shy to lean on the people here and around you. So many of us have been through this, so you will always find someone who knows exactly what you're going through.
In the meantime, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers - and if she's listening (she usually is!) I'll ask my nanna if she can help..
Some times that bond isn't broken by death and distance. Hold her in your heart and she will never be 'gone'.

I have to agree with Green on this, does it matter what it was if it helps you?
Believe it to be whatever makes you feel happiest, and whenever you hear that voice again, may it continue to bring you comfort.
In the meantime have these!

Julie, I'm sorry you're going through this right now.
Isn't it amazing how our love of the show.fandom can relieve our stress even during the most painful times? I'm so glad you found something to brighten your day, even if only for a short while.

I never had much of a relationship with my grandparents, so I latched onto my husband's grandmothers, who were two very wonderful women. They both passed away within months of each other when I was expecting my son, so they never saw him.
I was devastated, especially when I was given a baby gift at the second grandmother's funeral by her sister from her. It was a baby quilt she had made during hr last months. She included a note that said not to be sad, as she would live through all of us.
Keep all of your good memories close during this hard time and tell the kids all about her. That way, she stays with you always.

The universe works in ways I will never understand, and I stopped trying to figure it out years ago,
all I realy know is there is ebb and flow.
It sound like there is love all around you and that never fades, it just gets stronger takes on other forms.
Like messages from unusual places.
It's hard when you go through something like this, there is all this emotion and limbo feeling.
But you are not alone, you never are,
I like to think of this place as being filled with my cyber-family, we may never meet each other, or have blood-ties , we have all been guided here by a love of a TV show and it has grown into something more.
And we are here for each other
So from this side of the world

So sorry about your grandmother, Julie. That is a heartwarming story though, about hearing a much-loved voice just when you most needed it and least expected it. Yes, we are not alone.
Thanks for listening, everyone. I appreciate it.

Julie, sorry to hear about your grandmother.
It is nice to get that emotional support even if it comes from an incredible unknown source.

Seriously?!?!
(I thought I would vent here because this is still about my Grandma ...)
So, one of my cousins wrote up all my Grandma's medications and took them and the little pill bottles into her doctor. And the doctor looked at one of them and said, I didn't prescribe that. And my cousin pointed at the bottle and said, there's your name. And the doctor said, yeah, but I didn't prescribe that.
Seriously?!?!
So, for the last two weeks, my poor sick Grandma has been taking someone else's heart medicine that could have killed her because some idiot at the pharmacy didn't bother to check the pills?!
Words can't even express my feelings about this one ...

Yikes!!! Just goes to show how you have to stay on top of that stuff.
My mother got a new doctor at one point and one prescription he gave her was for Valium. She didn't get it filled and asked him why he prescribed it, and he said, "All women need it sometimes."
I couldn't decide which horrified me more: that he did it, or that she didn't immediately change doctors.

Oh, that's horrible! And oh, so scary! I don't know how it works where you are, but here the patient's name is always on top of the little prescription label they stick on the medication along with the doctor's name - and it's in bold too, to make it easier to see.
When you pick up the prescriptions, either the pharmacist or the assistant checks each one with you to make sure they're giving you everything they're supposed to... and nothing they shouldn't.
Human error is a fact of life, but when it's in a situation like this, when a simple check could potentially prevent a death.. it's mind-boggling!
I do hope someone has contacted the pharmacy and suggested they need to sort out their system before they kill someone!
And is there another body you could contact? A government agency that oversees chemists or something?

Yikes EW!!! A mistake's one thing (and still awful). Deliberate actions like that, wow.

Wow, EW! That's terrible! I'm just shocked that in this day and age, with all of the safeguards that are supposed to be there, that such things can still happen.
