Me too. What I think I loved the most was the way they brought him in. I loved Colonel Blake, too. The wrote him in so that the characters had to make the same adjustments that the viewers did and it worked each time they did it with new characters.

I loved how this article referred to him as sometimes being the only adult in the room during that show, it is so true; but sometimes he wasn't even that, sometimes he broke down and was just as childish as the rest of them (though it was very seldom).

I saw that. We've been watching MASH every night for the past 2 weeks since it's om TV Land.

His character always seemed to have the right amount of seriousness and humor.

Yes, he will be missed. And MASH was truly a great show with great characters -I watched it a lot as a kid.
