I was pound !

ETA: Serious spoilers are in this, so if you plan on ever watching/reading, this isn't something you want to see yet. Wink

That's great! Laugh2

I've read books 1-4. Loved 1-3, didn't like 4 at all (main reason why I haven't read 5 yet...)

I'm in the middle of Book 3, willing to give Book 4 a try. Wink

I admit that part of my problem was that, while I'd read the first three all in a row in 2000 (when book 3 had just come out), book 4 didn't come out until 2005 (after the publication date had been pushed back several times) and by then, I no longer had the events and characters as fresh in my mind. Someday, when I have time to reread all the first three again, I might give book 4 another chance.

You make a fair point. It's easier to read the books continuously, rather than waiting and waiting for a sequel that takes years! This is why I stopped reading the Wheel of Time books.

Did some checking...

Book 1: 1996
Book 2: 1998
Book 3: 2000
Book 4: 2005
Book 5: 2011

He's getting slower between books, all right. At this rate, Book 6 probably won't come out until 2018, and book 7 not until 2024!

Might be a little sooner than that. HBO has a series, after all. Each season apparently corresponds to one book.

Season 1: 2011
Season 2: 2012
Season 3: 2013
Season 4: 2014
Season 5: 2015
Season 6: 2016
Season 7: 2017

This implies that the author needs to get Book 6 out by 2016, and Book 7 out buy 2017! Maybe sooner if they need time to make scripts...

Ooh, well if HBO will be leaning on him in a major way to get the remaining books done for their schedule, that gives me hope.

Though I don't have HBO. I'm hoping that the first season of the series will hit Netflix one of these days...

It's not out on DVD yet. I have it on my wishlist, since we don't have cable. Wink
