oh man, soooooo true. it applies everywhere too, business, politics.... schools, churches.....even households...

and alien races set on domination...... ;-)

i have a relative who became pretty powerful and wealthy at a young age. he has become very how do i say this....pompous??

he has very little compassion for people who are homeless, poor, depressed...etc, and he is a very sore loser, especially when he loses to someone who may not have as much "skill" as him

dont get me wrong, he is still a great guy, and is good company and fun to be around, but ive noticed this shift in his personality in recent years....as he gains more power in his job lol

Yikes, doesn't speak well for politicians!

Though throughout history, I'm not sure if hereditary monarchy or any other system that's been tried is any better, unfortunately.

Just look at Katse...

Well, it explains the concept of noblesse oblige and other expectations of nobility over the course of history. People recognized that power made people into jerks, so they tried to ensure that the powerful didn't abuse it. They weren't always successful, but the idea was there.

Yeah Katse had power to a limited degree, but so does Gatchaman when you think about it.(Have power), and when it comes to superheros's who usually wins in the end!! The REAL leader, the one with quality and thinks outside of themselves over self absorbed behaviour and power hunters. Just that the self absorbed single agenda leaders do the most damage before they get booted out of power.
