Question about TopCow Comics 1-12 2002

Okay just finished, skimming the TopCow comics 2002 1-12
Have a BIG Question about Comic 11-12..it apprears to show that Jason is "assisting" Spectra in building an army and that he has defected...

Anderson and Jason had a meeting in previous comic, were Jason stormed out, Mark thinks it may have had something to do with the attempt on Anderson life, were in surveilance footage ,Jason was seen to be the marksman.

I would like to think that this is an "assignment" Anderson has given Jason "his big stick" (comic 12)

Were there any other comics after 12 or was an explanation given anywere else?

Cause we know Jason has issues, the fight he had on the Phoenix before they rescued the President and Anderson had Mark commenting about the "end of GForce"
But he also rescued Tiny's girlfriend a previous comic?

??????!!!(pathetic whimper of "Help me" from LW "not my condor")

PPS yes yes... I know I have to share him...maybe we should clone him ..so we can all have one)

PPPS also Zoltar said to Mark (who was being held captive at the time) that he had spoken/begged Anderson for help, Mark was going to speak to Anderson about this...anyone know anymore????

Unfortunately, there were no further issues after No. 12 and no explanation was given.

It was one of the real pains that we were left with so many loose threads!

Littlewolf it sounds like you had/have the same reaction as Becky did. That reaction, I gather, is what prompted her to write this story:

sacrifice

I hope Becky does not mind me linking to her story. And that I understood from her summary that she too thought it strange that Jason would defect.

I would love to be able to read those comics. Perhaps one day I will be able to get my hands on them.

I got them all in a CD some years ago, googled BOTP comics and got a hit, these included manga and TopCow, the English ones and the cross overs plus some others

off to read Becky's story now

Enjoy it. I know I did, and I did not even know about the comics until after I finished her story.

No, CD, I don't mind you mentioning Sacrifice at all.

LW, I had the same reaction you had. There was no way Jason would defect. There was some speculation that was actually Donald Wade, but the creators of the comic wouldn't elaborate.

I won't give any spoilers on Sacrifice, so I hope you like my solution to the dilema of Jason's disappearance.

FWIW, a few years ago, a member here, Rory, posted an interview with Wilson Tortosa, who drew the comics.

In this thread:

http://www.gatchamania.net/thread.php?threadid=1940&sid=

In the interview, Tortosa said it wasn't Jason, but rather a new character that was being introduced with an eye to a second series for the Comic.

So, maybe it wasn't ever really Jason?

I'd never seen that interview, LB. Thanks for posting!

If I had seen that before I wrote Sacrifice, I don't think I would have changed anything because the story had come to me so strongly.

But there is one aspect I only touched on - the man who was a prisoner of the ISO who escaped.

More fanfic fodder.

Much Thanks everyone.
That solved a few Questions and left a few others for pondering

Well, this isn't an "official" statement of where the storyline had been headed, though I figure that Wilson Tortosa would have been in a position to know things...

I think I would have liked your version better than whatever Munier Sharrieff and Alex Ross had planned for a second series anyway!

Thank you, LB.

Do you get the impression it `was` Mr Wade??

That would follow BotP canon, but it seemed they tried to include all of the versions, so who knows?
