Hi!
Wow, this place is wonderful! I grew up loving Battle of the planets, but even though I loved the show, the story wasn't satisfying and I could never really get my head around what was going on, now I know why!
I'm really enjoying reading through the Gatchaman/BotP episode recaps, thank you so much for putting those together. Never noticed how badly drawn Mark and Princess were, I guess I just imagined my way through those constipated ready room scenes : )
I'm definitely an Eagle and loved the whole (confusing!) BotP Red Impulse story arc. I also secretly imagined that Zoltar was Mark's mother, lol : )
Looking forward to exploring more!

Pull up a bar stool and join the crowd. We have a lot of Eagle people here and most of them, like you, came to this series because of a love of BOTP. I know I did.

Yes ... the episode recaps are a great source of knowledge for whom might wish to get more accustomed with a certain universe! For me, they work the other way round ... I grew up watching Gatchaman, and now I'm learning more about BotP! I'll never stop thanking those who have spent a lot of their time in writing them, and providing the great, accompanying screencaps!

Hi Crescent Moon! I was also obsessed with BOTP as a kid, then slowly drifted away after it was cancelled, then rediscovered it (and discovered Gatchaman) as an adult. I love the idea of Zoltar being Mark's mother! When I was a kid we were all convinced that Zoltar was a woman because of the lips and the long blonde hair. If you'd told me that as a kid, I probably wold have believed it!

Hi Crescent Moon! I loved B of the P's growing up and obscessed about it all the time as a teenager. I too found out about Gatchaman when I was in my 20's thanks to a friend of mine. She also got me involved in Bird Scramble in the 80's. I've met so many wonderful people thru this fandom. I'm sure you'll have loads of fun here. 
Love you idea of Zoltar being Mark's mother, like UW I think it would be great to see a fic about it too.

I've started reading some of the fics too, not something I've gotten into before, but damn, they're addictive, and a lot of fun!
I'd love to see a fic written on Zoltar as Mark's mother too, I might give it a go myself, but I can't for the life of me see how it would work.. Maybe both her and Red Impulse took a Galactor parenting class.. Hmmmm ; )

Do you remember an episode in which Keyop went chasing the Abominable Snowman?
At the end of that, the team has Zoltar cornered, and the Luminous One bursts in on the scene. Depending on the syndicated station, this moment might or might not have been broadcast. After that, G-Force is talking about a glance of long blond hair and there's some talk of Zoltar possibly being a woman.
(If you've watched Gatchaman, you know why the Purple One has the lips and great hair.)
