Hi all,
I've enjoyed reading a lot of the fics available here and have been following the Tag game going on with Thunderbird's Harem. I'm a big fan of Battle of the Planets and remember the first time it came on and compared it to Speed Racer at the time. I didn't even know what Japanese Animation was until the 80's when I responded to a post in a Starlog magazine and wrote to Barb Cummings for years until Bird Scramble started up. Forgive me for not remembering the year I know it was late 80's. I learned about Gatchaman from Barb and provided her with tapes and she made copies of both BoftheP's and GM. I fell in love with both and recently got back into the fandom. I have 3 kids ages 8 to 12 and 1 girl adores Joe the other is hooked on Jinpei. My son likes Jun. 
It's been fun getting them hooked on this wonderful series. I've also been buying up the GM subbed/dubbed series and my daughter and I argue over which is best. Of course I like the subbed she's partial to the dubs. All and all it's been nice finding a site that enjoys this show as much as me. I really enjoy SJ's fics and gobble them up every chance I get. They remind me of why I fell in love with Mark and Princess so many years ago. My fav is Keyop because he reminds me of how much I loved watching him get into mischief growing up. So hi one and all.

Thanks for the warm welcomes, love the pic of Keyop. So does my daughter, she calls him her hottie, lol. We fight over him all the time, giggle. She's almost 10 and loves animals and bugs just like he does.
I was really worried it hadn't posted, I'm glad to see it made it on here. I have a pic I'd love to upload once it gets scanned. My girls draw really well and the 10 yr old has captured a wonderful side view of Nambu/Anderson. It's on my fridge right now. I'm glad to finally be out of lurk mode.

I love the fact that they want to be corrupted. During the first episode they were like this is stupid, until the team showed up and the music kicked in, then they were hooked, heh heh heh.
I was in Bird Scramble way back when as Whirlwind Madness, but had to quit when I joined the AF. 
I never realized it was still going strong. Once I get more things settled in real life I hope to join back up. I miss reading it and I still have all my old copies.

Can't wait to see the pic you've mentioned! I hope that some day I'll manage to "corrupt" my own kids like you did with yours! They're half of your children's age, but they seem more into the new kind of cartoons, other than those I wish them to be hooked by ... certainly, Gatchaman being the favourite! I'm trying my best, though!
I'm not so familiar with BotP, having only watched all the three series of Gatchaman, with which I immediately fell in love, except for the few odd episodes of BotP, about which I only have a remote memory. But, I totally understand your attachment with your favourite characters! It'll be nice hearing more of your own view about the show, and its characters, and please feel free to join in any of the ongoing conversations!

I agree with TJ, it is genetic. My daughter likes to watch with me and even suggests it. She likes Jinpei, too. Though she doesn't like Keyop; she really doesn't like what BotP did to him and they way they make him sound. Mine son will watch, too, but he's at an age that he won't admit that he likes it and would rather play video games. But, I know that if I get TvC, he'd be playing Joe.
