The Centurions
Does anyone remember this show? It came out in 1986, but I first heard about it in the mid 90's. I kinda forgot about it until now though. It was produced by the american company Ruby Spears, but it was animated in Japan by Sunrise, so this could technically be considered an anime! Nah, never mind. It doesn't look anime-ish despite it being animated there. The development of this show is quite interesting actually. Comic book legends Jack Kirby and Gil Kane contributed to its designs and concepts, and the show's episodes were written by various top of the line sci-fi writers such as Michael Reaves, Marc Scott Zicree, Larry DiTillio and Gerry Conway. Watched the first episode on YouTube a few minutes ago. I don't remember what episodes I did and did see back when it was on CN back in the 90's though except two which one was about some guy who thought he was in the past, and the other one was about a guy who could change into other people (but in more than one character and doesn't stay changed into one character throughout the whole episode like Berg Katse does in Gatch). Other than that, I don't remember what episodes I saw back then.

LOL I remember the Centurions. They were on when my sister was at prime cartoon watching age, and I'd watch with her when I got back from college.

Anyways, yeah I remember "Centurions". It was probably the longest action show (65 episodes) Turner had in their library, so it got substantial rotation on Cartoon Network during the early-to-mid '90's. It aired in the same line-up/block ("Super Adventures") that "G-Force" often did.
I didn't get much into the show back then, but like many found the protagonists' suits and their "plug-ins" friggin' awesome (still do as a matter of fact). It still holds up today, animation-wise (animated by Sunrise and produced by Ruby-Spears, both top notch companies). It's currently airing on CN's sister station Boomerang, which shuffles it in and out throughout the months.
I remember them and Visionaries.

You know I'd forgotten about that board? Did it used to be known as battleoftheplanets.net which sort of redirected just to the battle of the planets part? I've just hunted it down and I remember loads of those usernames, but it really has been years
There was so much going on back then with the comic series and the us releases of BOTP and so on. I remember there were loads of bbs and mailing groups and forums that sprang up everywhere. Remember the Top Cow forum?
In fact, I just spotted this thread and the picture has gone but I can still remember exactly what the guy was after, lol. There was a quite extraordinarily proportioned sexy Jun model that had turned up in some model exhibition photos from Japan, which I suspect was painted to look like either her costume was transparent or most of her costume just wasn't there. In fact, I seem to remember some of it being blurred out in some photos. Dearie me, memories...
