Back in the Day...

I know I've done this before...but it's fun to see what we looked like "back in the day"...when we watched BOTP...here's a peek at 7 or 8 year old Springie!

Oh ... oh ... you were so cute ... and, surely, still are!!! You also seem to be the oldest and daddy's little princess!!

Now, I have to go and find a few of mine ... sob ... I have a very few, though! My parents were changing house and they did not have enough time to take photos! That's why I keep taking bundles of my own kids!! Now, I have some things to do, but, later, perhaps I'll add one or two!!

I know I have one of me somewhere - will have to find it.

Springie - gosh you certainly do look like your mum!!

Yes, I am definitely Daddy's girl...Bounce2

And Maddy, I find that the older I get, the more I look like Mom...we even have similar voices!

Can't wait to see everyone's pics!

So cute, Springie! You have the most gorgeous red hair, then and now!

I'm lucky to have a Dad who's digitized all the old family slides and put them on CDs for everyone.

Here's a selection from 1977 and 1978 (in the group pics, I'm the smallest one).

(My sister's pants Laugh2 Gotta love 70s fashion...)

(My grandmother crocheted this poncho.)

(My brother looked 'military' even then.)

(I must be tired from cross country skiing.)

Those are beautiful pics, LB! You're so lucky to have had them digitalised by your dad! They're the only things, together with the memories, that help us not forget our past! I love the expression on your face in the last one ... you really seem tired, but also so cute!

Here are two of mine when I was 6-7 years old:

I'm the second one from the front in the first picture ... hee hee, the one with the innocent look who's looking at the camera ... during my First Holy Communion.

The second picture was taken during my eldest brother's wedding ... I was one of his flower girls! He's 19 years older than me!! Next to me there's my dear dad, my sister-in-law and brother, obviously, my dear and beloved mum, and my other brother.

I don't have any pictures of myself as a kid. I think my parents must have them all.

It is nice seeing what everyone looked like when they were younger and the memories of the clothing back then has me Rofl

I couldn't see then either TJ. I wondered if it was a Safari thing and was going to try on Firefox. Either that or Marie's pictures got (re)moved.

CD, I'm on firefox and can't see it. Great pictures everyone.

Tomorrow and Saturday, I look to see if I can find the old picture of my brother and I on the front porch of the house we rented right after we moved. We even have our blankets tied around our necks. I'd be willing to be bet that Mom was able to snap the picture just before we started fighting about what we would play: BotP or Super Friends.

LB, you were so cute! am cracking up at the clothes! I think I had some bell bottoms similar to your sister's! And the "dutch boy" haircuts were so popular back then!

Marie, it looks like Photobucket deleted your pic...wonder why? I wish I could've seen it!

I think I was spared, somehow, having to wear those pants as hand-me-downs, but I've just noticed that the green shirt my sister is wearing in the 1977 pic at the top is the same shirt that I'm wearing in the winter 1978 picture at the bottom. I think the purple snow pants I'm wearing had been hers first too. I'd forgotten just how much of my clothes (and toys), back in those days, were things that had been hers first...

Yes, if I recall, I knew other kids with haircuts like mine and my sister's -but they sure look goofy now. My parents were big believers in short, practical hairstyles -I had no chance to grow long, "Marcia Brady" hair.

Sorry!! My fault!! I'm still learning how to use Photobucket ... I think I have erroneously deleted the pic myself in the process as I was in a hurry! I thought I've deleted a copy but it was, in fact, the original one!Doh2

Wow, Marie, you are so gorgeous in your white dress! That looks like a very elaborate wedding!

LB, as someone who had 'Marcia Brady hair' (and still does) I can tell you that it wasn't fun growing up with it when every other girl in class had short hair.

Well .... many years have passed .....!!!!!!

LB ... I know what you mean regarding the short hair! I wasn't allowed to grow it long until I had my right of speech when I was a teenager!!!

We do tend to celebrate in great style, here! ... it's only nowadays, when the economy is not that good, that people tend to press their breaks!
