Bloody Paypal UK

Cheeky bastards is all I can say. Nono2

I have had my account for a good few years now and then all of a sudden I get an email telling me that the account has been placed on limitations because of recent unusualy activity.

Now of course this doesnt sound like a bad thing, I like to know if something dodgy is happening to my accounts.

But no....

Its just a shiddy ploy to force me into setting up a direct debit on my paypal account and has absolutely feck and all to do with any odd account history.

So I decided to fill in the direct debit form.

address : leicester
city: leicester
county: leicester
postcode: fuck U

and you know what?! Eek

It accepted the details LOL!! ROFL 2

That's funny!

I hate paypal, when my purse got stolen a few months ago I called them to report the card being used was now a dead account. The idiot on the phone had no clue what to do about it, then put me on hold for like forever to find out. I hung up.
Then he has the nerve to email me one of those how did I do forms. I let them have it. Didn't even phase them. They really are annoying aren't they?

Uh, Cep?

Just my usual dose of paranoia, here, but did you consider that the email you received might be bogus?

You didn't do anything risky, but maybe you should check the Paypal site and see if they say anything. If not, let them know there's another nasty using their name to collect private information.

I agree with Cricket, as a general rule never set up a direct debit like that if they want that informaion they should inform you in writing.

Not just in writing. It's easy to steal a logo, online or in writing.

They should also have an announcement on their website saying if they're doing such a thing -- or a warning if they're aware of the hoax.

I'd actually venture to guess that, since it accepted the "information," that it's a hoax/scam. Perhaps you should contact them to find out?

I recieved some bogus paypal forms thru my yahoo email with a virus attached that made copies of my financial info and then f*cked up my computer, so C-Y-A Cep! These morons do not play nice!

Posted by Cep on 27-08-2004 at 08:08:

Nope I am not that stupid as to reply to an email. Rolleyes

I went to the site from my own link, checked the site, entered the site and posted the information.

They already have my bank and credit details which is why this is such a con job. Unusual activity my ass.

But thankyou all for the concern Hug

Oh, Cep, we know you're not stupid enough to send out your info through a bogus email. We just went into mother-mode, and then good-citizen-mode. Something about being a parent makes that a habit.

You, uh, wanna borrow the kids for a week, see if you can help us shake it?

And the cocoa is mine.

You can have the liverwurst, though.

You can have the cocoa and broccoli.

I still don't iron, but there's a sale on perma-press. Shall I pick you up some stuff?
