My random reminiscing thread
Yesterday I was walking around town, and I found out that this restaurant I liked to go to not really because of the food, but because it had one of my favorite arcade games:Solar-warrior, was demolished and is not around anymore. I feel like a part of my late teens was taken away, and a small part of my child hood. Small part of my child hood, because I first went there when I was a child and they had another one of my favorite games there back then, but once I went there for the second time in 2003, THAT game wasn't there anymore, but Solar-warrior was there until the place closed down. *is the kind of guy who from time to time has nothing better to do than think about his past and the good ol' days*

Actors I watched as a kid are dropping left and right because of old age. Sigh. There are grown people out there who've never seen the first three Star Wars movies in theaters.

I was lucky enough to see the trilogy in theaters when they got re-released in 1997 with the added footage. That was pretty cool. And back in June, I found out a place I liked to go to at an old vacation spot also closed down. If only there was such a thing as a time machine. *sigh*

If there was such thing as a time machine, I'd probably find some people and smack them. Including my past self for few things.
Mostly, it would be the little effers from school.
Time passes.

lol, I'd probably do that too now that you mentioned it, because in the past I did some pretty stupid things myself.

Speaking of reminiscing about arcade games of old, my favorite was Pengo. I'm pretty sure nobody's ever heard of it. Basically, you were this cute Penguin that pushed around ice cubes, crushing the even cuter bad guys in between. Who knows how many quarters I may have fed into that machine!

I have a distant memory of such a game, I think having the same kind of name, which I used to play with my brother on our, now extinct, Atari, way, way back in years! Could it be the same one?! ... I'm quite sure it could have been, cause the game consisted in pushing ice cubes into the enemy! Another thing I know is that I loved playing it!
Allen ... you're not the only one to keep thinking on the good old days! There's nothing wrong in cherishing such memories, which have eventually formed our person, life, and character, unless you keep on living in the past! When, sometimes, I feel lost and engulfed in such a hectic life, I find myself excavating past events that could help in making me feel safe, and at home, and fill me with warmth! Always take life day by day, trying to do better, and find newer things, than you did in the past! It's no use crying over matters that have already happened (I must keep on reminding myself, also, about this!!) ... live life exploiting every useful lesson extracted from such past events in order to ameliorate!
