Stand Alone Complex

By now, everybody should know what Stand Alone Complex is. If you have any knowledge of current anime, then you know it.

I picked up the limited edition first dvd. Bandai is usually great with their limited editions and box sets, but this one is seriously lacking. $35 for one dvd and a soundtrack? That's kind of a rip off. And you don't even get a box! Oh well. Strange thing is, they're releasing limited editions of the rest of the volumes too. I don't see the point in it, as all they come with is the OST. *shrug*

Anyways, the show itself is friggin' great. It's intelligent and full of action, just like the original movie. Anyone who likes quality anime should see it. I hear another season is already in the works.

But the soundtrack is so phenomenal! Inner Universe is my fave. ^_^

Course...I don't need a million copies of it, either. Big Grin

I'm familiar with the movie, which is as far as I'm concerned, one of the all time classic anime movies.

I've watched all of Stand Alone Complex. At the least, it's as good as the movie, if not better IMO. It's kind of hard to describe for me, but I just thought everything was so damn good. Every episode had something to offer and the characters are all very interesting. What is one of the all time greatest anime movies is quickly becoming one of the all time greatest anime series.

Plus, Motoko is pretty easy on the eyes. That's gotta count for something, right?

I bought Volume 1 of Stand Alone Complex and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I went and bought, the first film and Vols 2, 3, 4 and 5 and still thoroughly enjoyed it.

There isn't really anything about it to complain. Oh only a few niggling questions like the American Empire and such and this war that everybody goes on about but that doesn't stop me enjoy the series.

I think the Stand Alone Complex is better than the film because it tells a story about some of the charactors and you get to know them a bit more than the film.

I did like the funny bit at the end of each episode.

A second season was made...Stand Alone Complex 2nd GiG. I absolutely loved the first season and the second season totally exceeded it imo. In my mind, Ghost In The Shell can do no wrong.

The 7 volume will be out on DVD here in Britian soon and I can't wait until the film comes out in October, whish carries on from the first movie rather than the SAC, but you are right, the SAC can't do any wrong but only get better and better. Big Grin
